great deal. We were very happy with our experience. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly, the location was great, and the price was unbeatable. If we every go back to New Orleans we'll stay here.

Not A Bargain. This is the worst room I have ever had in NOLA. I took the "Virtural Tour" our room was nothing close to the tour. It was a tiny room with to much furniture both beds were broke and the mattresses were worn out years ago. The shower head was broke. No parking, no $1.99 breakfast, could not get into the tiny little bar 4 doors down from the hotel to get a cocktail the swimming pool wasn't a pool. It is in a great location and the staff was very friendly. If you have a bad back skip this one.

A former government house from when Louisiana was still a French colony.. The Scene
This inn was built in the 19th century for the Baron Xavier de Pontalba, and details such as exposed brick walls date back to its beginnings. Period furnishings and stone walkways throughout the garden courtyard further contribute to an old-time air that truly captures the essence of New Orleans.

The Details
All 95 rooms include cable TV, irons, hair dryers, voice mail and data ports. The once-complimentary continental breakfast is no more, but guests may still partake in a free evening cocktail hour. While the surrounding French Market area has become a commercialized parody of the bustling world market it once was, the neighborhood does otherwise provide authentic bites of history. You can enjoy coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde, a muffaletta at the Central Grocery or a multi-course dinner including boiled beef brisket and shrimp remoulade at Tujague's restaurant--all are located within a few blocks.
