Great Hotel BUT...

Contributor at Citysearch

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Worst hotel I ever stayed at

by amberjsmith at Citysearch

I'm not a high maintenance person, but this place has got to be the most disorganized and inefficient business I have ever seen. Bad customer service was rampant throughout my stay. From when I had no one to give my car to as I arrived, to a rude and slow check-in, and ending off with an hour long wait to get my car back. The workers there are unprofessional and have secret "meetings" in the back, where all they do is eat cookies and pretend like they are working. I'd understand if they were short on workers, but the workers that were there, were extremely rude and did not seem to care that they had lots of customers waiting on them. They also charge a daily mandatory fee which includes wireless internet, but fail to tell you that the internet doesn't even work.

Also warning, they make it seem like they have big rooms there, but they are tiny. Barely any room between the bed and the wall. Walls are also very thin.

Basically, this place sucked. I will never come back again.

  • Pros: close to bourbon
  • Cons: small rooms, terrible service, no valet

horrible experience

one desk worker on a friday night, 45 mins to check in, dirty room-dirty crumpled sheets off of mattress and piled on bed & dirty towels on floor, red spots on sheets??, sheets came off of mattress b/c they didnt fit, had to change rooms twice and still ended up in a smoking room when i reserved non-smoking, got credited a fee then recharged without letting me know, no coffee packs in room & never received when i called, 1 hour wait to have towels brought up to room, rude gm that would not help out at all when i called. also, the valet parked my car on the street.

great service, great price

by pattintim at Citysearch

We had such a great time staying at the Queen and Crescent. It's within walking distance of famous Bourbon Street, but far enough away from the noisy crowds. We walked everywhere from the hotel, including the French quarter and the French Market. It has modern amenities without compromising the charm and character of the historic building. The staff was attentive, friendly and very helpful. We didn't know where we were going half the time, but they never steered us wrong. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and we would definitely stay there again if we ever made it back to New Orleans.

  • Pros: convenient parking, excellent customer service, comfortable beds, slept great

Not good experience

by marie6000 at Citysearch

First of all, we arrive and the staff was not friendly nor made us feel welcome to their hotel. We waited 30 minutes outside the front door to get valet parking. Then we finally get to our room, open the curtains and the window sill is full of "potato chips". Apparently housekeeping did not do their job. Next, we get in bed to take a nap and the sheets did not fit the bed - no elastic in the fitted sheet therefore it came off every time we got into the bed and they had a pillow top on top of the mattress that just slid off due to the sheets not holding. By the end of first day, we pull out the computer and could not log in (and being charged an Amenity fee of $6.95 per day) When I called the front desk to report it, she asked me to bring my computer down - what kind of service is this? Come one, one of the staff members should have come to the room. All I can say is that I would never stay at this place again, nor RECOMMEND to anyone ever! I feel I should get a complimentary package from the Queeen and Crescent to another hotel. $200 for the weekend and it was awful.

  • Pros: no highlites
  • Cons: unclean/unfriendly

Great service and amazing prices. Close to everything but a reasonable distance away so that way you have a quiet rest.

Historic lodging geared for group travelers.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
This boutique hotel originally housed the Queen & Crescent Railroad, which ran from Cincinnati to New Orleans. The $12 million sunk into its renovations is evident in its sleek lobby, exposed-brick walls, restored Renaissance Revival architecture and original artwork in common areas and guest rooms. The sophisticated style is more practical than romantic and primarily attracts conventioneers and corporate travelers. The staff is trained to arrange group events such as golf outings, music shows and swamp tours. Meeting rooms and banquet facilities can accommodate up to 400.

The Details
Guests will find a solid selection of standard amenities in their rooms, as well as fax and modem access. The fitness room is open 24 hours a day, and there is a bar-lounge for unwinding on the premises. As is true for most hotels in New Orleans, rates can rise drastically during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and other event weekends.

Girls Night Out

by kandise at Citysearch

Four girls in New Orleans, you want to feel safe, and that's just how we felt at Queen and Cresant! The atmosphere was great, the rooms were quaint and beautifully decorated. It was a short distance from the French Quarter, Convention Center and the Riverwalk. We loved it and will return!

  • Pros: Good Rates, Beautiful Rooms, Location great
