This hotel restaurant serves flavorful combination cuisine that's a study in the art of balance.

In Short
The small room's tables and leather banquettes recall Parisian neighborhood restaurants; a mirrored wall with Impressionist paintings complements the dark-wood bar and accents. In warmer weather, patrons enjoy outdoor dining in the courtyard. Continental influences are evident in the food, but variations on New Orleans' classics or experimental dishes with bold spices are just as likely. Entrees range from herb-crusted lamb with lavender mashed potatoes to Louisiana Gulf fish filled with barbecue oysters and eggplant kamut spirals.
- Pros: inventive cuisine
A visitor from San Francisco

The San Franciscans are spoiled with good food. Believe me, this place is great! First, it is small and romantic. Second, the food is great. Third, you don't hear this annoying noice from Burbone Street. Fourth, the decoration of this place is really nice: big signature bottles on the shelves, painting on the walls, candles on the tables..... Really, really brings out the experience of the French Quarter.
The Should Try Place.
Hired Staff?

Lovely room, good food. Staff hadn't got a clue. 9pm Sat night half full. Couldn't wait to get us out. Lifting trsah through front door as we finished wine. Staff seemed more at home at Dennys. No flar, front of house was simply crude. At these prices should be muh better. Too used to transient.tourits

WOW!

It was purely accidental that we stumbled upon this gem. On a business trip, we asked the person we were meeting with to suggest a place for lunch. He suggested The Bistro. Our time, with Patrick the MC, was absolutely the best part of our trip. Walking in to The Bistro is like walking in to a quaint European restaurant where time stands still and all attention is paid to quality and the experience. I will be back again and again.
- Pros: Relaxing, Quaint
Perfectly Romantic!

From the moment the gregarious Patrick greeted us at the door until the moment we left, everything was impressive. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. and were the only patrons (alas! only for about 30 minutes), thus it felt as if it were our own private dining room. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and romantic. Patrick immediately made us feel at home, provided attentive service, and was knowledgeable about the wine and many other restaurants. My husband (French, mind you!) declared the duck entree a masterpiece!! I wasn't thrilled that my ratatouille had grapefruit in it, but (other than that) the food was very well done. We were also pleased to note that all patrons were treated with the same geniality and panache, regardless of attire. We can't wait for our next trip to New Orleans as we'll definitely be dining here again.
- Pros: Romantic, French Qtr. location, PATRICK!!!
- Cons: Not in San Francisco!
could be great or poor.

The food is very consisetent. Heavy dishes full of flavor. Not light food! The service can go from great to absolutely horrendous. I've had it both ways many times. The room is very small, very cramped, but at the same time very special. You'll feel like one of a select chosen few who got a reservation. The wine list is thorough and diverse, a little high on the mark-up. Over all. One of the better dining experiences available in N'awlins.
- Pros: flavor, wine list
- Cons: service, cramped
