My boyfriend and I found this place by accident -- we were looking for broiled crawfish and just stepped in and asked if they had it. We sat in the courtyard next to the fountain = very cute... my boyfriend loved it too! We're broke college students, so we only had appetizers since it was 4 in the afternoon, but the gator sausage, broiled crawfish, and gumbo were all very flavorful and savory!! Our waiter was VERY friendly and helpful: he taught us his way of eating the crawfish and chatted with us about New Orleans & Bourbon St before/after Katrina.

Pros: Food, atmosphere, service

Cons: Found by accident

This one was recommended by a Susie Que at the tourist information booth. We were skeptical to try it but found it to be delightful. Our waiter was a surly young man but he was quite entertaining. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired but it makes up for it in food. Everything was very flavorful. Skip the Oysters Rockafeller though as they were bland. Wine is cheap at this place. You can buy a decent bottle for $25. Try the crawfish etouffe sauce over anything that you get. It was the best we had all week. Dinner for two including appetizer, bottle of wine and entre was $70 with tip. Will definitely eat here again. UPDATE: 5/19/04 - Just ate there again. Still good food.

Pros: Food

Cons: Ambiance

We were actually looking for another restaurant but instead came across this quaint little place and decided to give it a try. We went in very late at night and found it to be a perfect place for a quiet romantic Valentine's dinner. The wine was good, staff was friendly and helpful and the food was flavorful. I would definetly go back to this place.

Everything was very nicely done.... except I didn't like their jambalaya...... but I did enjoy the blackened yellowfin -- and I don't even like fish!!! The place is not overly bright, the staff was very attentive, and the chef even accomodated my dinner partner's special diet. Would definitely return for more!

Pros: good service, pleasant staff, good food

Cons: hard to park, didn't like jambalaya

One of those open air type places near Jackson Square. Just happened on the place and they were harping their fare on the street as we walked by. Our first time the service was excellent, the food was hot, fresh and ample. We returned our next time in town and it was the same great food but the service had waned and the small seating room was crowded but still enjoyable.

Pros: fresh and hot

Cons: hit and miss service
