POOR customer Service!!

by Sharon817 at Citysearch

VERY poor customer service! Took four phone calls, last one to the manager on duty to get a trash can for the room. My brothers room didnt have toilet paper. There was a cover off of his phone (Room #1003). We were in Room #1012 and no phone books, no room service menu, no trash can. Cute advertisement suggested we call Ext #2164 to specifically request one of four pillow types for our bed. Never did receive them! Room however was clean. There are a quick turnaround hotel so they will not honor late checkout requests. Also very hard to get a room before 5pm on the day you checkin. Would not return here. We loved the Chateau Sonesta on Bourbon Street where we stayed last Fall. They were just booked up this time.

  • Pros: Close to Bourbon Street
  • Cons: Parking EXPENSIVE, Customer Service POOR

Things have changed..

The first time I ever came to NOLA, I stayed here. We won the airfare and hotel stay at this hotel. In 2004 it was really nice. We got here this Thursday and I am writing the review in the room now. Thursday night I saw a small black beetle like insect (if you know what I mean, Citysearch flags the real word) on the desk here. The kind that indicates lack of cleanliness. Its been like pulling teeth to get our room cleaned, or any fresh towels. We had to make a call to the front desk to remind them to clean today. The Checkered Parrot Restaurant (formerly TGI Friday's the last time I stayed here) had equally bad service and the food wasn't wonderful. It took forever for them to take and fill our breakfast order Friday morning and they kept forgetting things. Parking is easy, as it is a garage right here at the hotel. The automated parking card is also a plus. I'd say this place has really gone downhill in the last few years.

  • Pros: Location, Parking

For more than 50 years, this hotel's familiar green sign has signaled budget-friendly lodging for families and business travelers.
