For many years I have been a devoted client of the AVEDA Salon but could never understand why my highlighted hair had somewhat of a green hue to it. I thought it was my imagination, until one day, a friend (whom I had not seen in many years) mentioned that my hair looked a bit green. At that point, I knew it was NOT MY IMAGINATION. She recommended me to the Steven Sobel Salon on Maple Street where she has been a client for many years. I called for an appointment, was seen within a day.....my consult was with Steven.....NEED I SAY MORE.....my hair is now gorgeous.....the salon and staff are fabulous and I am so very happy. AVOID.....AVEDA, GIRLS.... Thank You to STEVEN SOBEL SALON

I went to Steven Sobel for the first time and got my long hair cut and colored. My friend and her family have been going to him for years, and her hair has always come out great. Steven recommended a darker shade which I was skeptical of at first, but it came out great. I couldn't have been happier with the warm service and great stylists. The cut was great and fit my face perfectly. I will definitely be back and would recommend this salon to all of my friends. Great results!

For my entire life, I've had my hair done by the same salon in New York. It was a Korean place, and the owner was a friend of my mom's. I love perming my straight hair, but with my salon in New York, that service was something to be desired. The curls were uneven, and my hair came out dry and crispy looking. No matter how many pictures I showed them, the results (1) looked nothing like the picture, but (2) always looked the same as all the previous perms. As I am in New Orleans for most of the year, I decided to look for a salon here. I remembered Steven Sobel from an InStyle magazine that featured them as the best salon in New Orleans to get a color treatment. I made an appointment with Ivonne, who has naturally curly hair herself. For a person usually left with a magazine while my stylist went to take care of another person, the one-on-one session was luxurious, if not a little disconcerting. I told her about my previous experiences, and for the first time, I was an active player in choosing the size of the rollers, where the curls began, and how it was done. From 2 until closing, I was the only customer, and I felt very taken care of. I asked for it to be more curly than not, and when it was done, it was a little too curly. She said it would loosen out and surely enough it did. I got so many compliments, by people who never complimented me when I had my previous perms- that says something, doesn't it?
Pros: Loved the results
Cons: Had to pay for some hair products put in after perm- though I was never asked, nor notified of extra price

I TRIED OTHER SALONS JUST AFTER MOVING TO NEW ORLEANS, NOT TOO HAPPY . I WAS ON MY WAY BACK HOME TO NEW YORK TO HAVE MY HAIR DONE BY MY OLD STYLIST WHEN A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT THE STEVEN SOBEL SALON . I MADE AN APPOINTMENT, HAD A CONSULATAION ABOUT MY HAIR COLOR THAT I WAS NOT TO HAPPY ABOUT. EVERYONE SEEMED SO NICE AND MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT GETTING MY HAIR DONE. WELL THE ABSOLUTE BEST CHOICE I MADE , MY HAIR LOOKS GREAT. WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS COME TO HERE.
Pros: GREAT ATMOSPHERE
Cons: NOT OPEN LATE
