good neighborhod restaurant. With good specials especially the crab cakes but basic breakfasts, lunches and dinners are good and inexpensive.
Thursday meatloaf exceptional, as are many other of their daily specials. I use their delivery service a lot.

This place is the bomb

Excellent food and wonderful staff make this joint a must. The Voodoo Chicken sandwich was to die for, as was the Rachael and the bread pudding. The servers are very attentive and witty, making every visit a joyous one.
- Pros: sandwiches, service, atmosphere
- Cons: closed on Wednesdays
Meatloaf Thursdays are a MUST
by kjuncatt
I've eaten here many times, I've enjoyed almost every meal. My favorite is the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans, followed very closely by the white beans on Mondays, the best and seasoned to New Orleanians taste. The wait staff are accomodating, and the management always courteous and friendly. It has a very warm and relaxing atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or drinks on the patio.
- Pros: Home Cooking and friendly service
- Cons: charbroiling not too appetizing

I have eaten here a few times and can tell you that their food is good!.. except for the BBQ part. They should really scrap the bbq idea and just focus on what they're good at... which is everything else. Great breakfasts and salads
- Pros: Good food, good location
- Cons: Bad BBQ, sassy staff
DON'T ORDER THE RIBS
by tanquerayntonic
I wish that I had read the last review before walking across town to experience this bbq joint. Big disappointment. It was confirmed that they served smoked bbq by the server when in fact it was ovenbaked and burnt on the grill, then brushed with spiced ketchup. Some pluses however were the soup de jour (cream of potato) and the crispy side salad. Some other negatives were the main entree and the sides : bbq ribs, mac and phony cheese, the greens, and the very bland potato salad. Steer clear bbq lovers!
- Pros: Soup of the day (cream of potato)
- Cons: All things bbq
Pulled pork, ribs and chicken in a quirky wooden room with an ornate chair tacked to the ceiling.
by Contributor
The Scene
Residents venture here for the best barbecued meat in the city. The small room is surrounded by dark wood--on the floor, walls, chairs and tables. Look for the Barbie doll shrine and the nonsmoking area--signaled by a chair nailed by its legs to the ceiling.
The Food
The barbecue combo platter comes with ribs, chicken and pulled pork in one delicious heap. The rib meat slides off the bone, the pulled pork melts in your mouth, and the chicken is perfectly cooked. All are slathered in a tangy and rich barbecue sauce. A wide range of gourmet pizzas, pastas and sandwiches is also available. Vegetarians are not forgotten, with grilled vegetable options and fresh fish of the day. Brunch is served on weekends.
Bywater BBQ

Not real BBQ, oven roasted. The only flavor comes from a very mediocre sauce that they drown the meat in. The beans were poured directly from a can and cold, and the potato salad lacked any seasoning whatsoever. Overall a very lackluster attempt at BBQ, try VooDoo it's a chain but better. I really feel badly recommending that, I usually support local biz fiercely, but I feel that my $17 was wasted on this meal.
- Pros: pleasently punk, cool building, decent service for NO
- Cons: , food, food

Locals only please, and if you actually make it down there, youll see why. Quite a hop skip and a jump from the tourist zone, this eatery specializes in BBQ specials that will have you fantasizing about your meal for months to come. Have a glass of champagne, order the special, kick back and enjoy.
Check out the back patio for quintessential courtyard seating.
- Pros: Pulled pork
- Cons: service
