I've eaten here many times, I've enjoyed almost every meal. My favorite is the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans, followed very closely by the white beans on Mondays, the best and seasoned to New Orleanians taste. The wait staff are accomodating, and the management always courteous and friendly. It has a very warm and relaxing atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or drinks on the patio.

Pros: Home Cooking and friendly service

Cons: charbroiling not too appetizing

I have eaten here a few times and can tell you that their food is good!.. except for the BBQ part. They should really scrap the bbq idea and just focus on what they're good at... which is everything else. Great breakfasts and salads

Pros: Good food, good location

Cons: Bad BBQ, sassy staff

I wish that I had read the last review before walking across town to experience this bbq joint. Big disappointment. It was confirmed that they served smoked bbq by the server when in fact it was ovenbaked and burnt on the grill, then brushed with spiced ketchup. Some pluses however were the soup de jour (cream of potato) and the crispy side salad. Some other negatives were the main entree and the sides : bbq ribs, mac and phony cheese, the greens, and the very bland potato salad. Steer clear bbq lovers!

Pros: Soup of the day (cream of potato)

Cons: All things bbq

Not real BBQ, oven roasted. The only flavor comes from a very mediocre sauce that they drown the meat in. The beans were poured directly from a can and cold, and the potato salad lacked any seasoning whatsoever. Overall a very lackluster attempt at BBQ, try VooDoo it's a chain but better. I really feel badly recommending that, I usually support local biz fiercely, but I feel that my $17 was wasted on this meal.

Pros: pleasently punk, cool building, decent service for NO

Cons: , food, food

Neighborhood secret! Great coffee and daily breakfast specials that will fill you up for under $5.00. Lots of options on the menu and for the really hungry go for the "Big Girl Breakfast". The morning staff at ByWater is alot of fun.

Pros: Variety on menu, Under $5.00, Fun

Cons: Location

Locals only please, and if you actually make it down there, youll see why. Quite a hop skip and a jump from the tourist zone, this eatery specializes in BBQ specials that will have you fantasizing about your meal for months to come. Have a glass of champagne, order the special, kick back and enjoy. Check out the back patio for quintessential courtyard seating.

Pros: Pulled pork

Cons: service

I used to live near here, and it's definitely my favorite place for barbecue and takeout in the city...I ordered delivery from here at least twice a week! (Preferable, since on-street parking is sometimes bothersome.) The barbecue, of course, is top-notch, especially the platter with pulled pork and chicken, but the burger is also a worthwhile contender, and I love the pizza (yes, pizza) best of all. An out-of-town friend of mine raved about some crawfish quesadillas he had. The back courtyard area is great for groups or romance.

Pros: Great food, Outdoor seating

Cons: Peak hours parking

Pulled pork, ribs and chicken in a quirky wooden room with an ornate chair tacked to the ceiling.  See the full editorial review.
