What users are saying:
The best excursion of its kind, offering a history of voodoo queen Marie Laveau as an appropriate starting point.

In Short
Unlike some museums, which serve as tourist-trap gift shops pretending to historical significance, this actually functions as, well, a museum. The tour, which is not so spooky that it will scare young folks, delivers visitors through an exhibition space featuring displays on the history of the alternative religion in New Orleans, including photographs, art, maps and Laveau's magical "wishing stump," which bestows blessings on those who touch it. Further along, the brave may make ceremonial offerings to the spirits, view authentic African and Haitian art.
Essence of New Orleans
by mcberna76
The Museum is small and, well, it is a hole in the wall. However, the experience is the essence of New orleans. Much like the Quarter, it has it charm and ambience. The staff was eager to answer our questions. Voodoo is New Orleans, so you have to make a pit stop here. Don't forget to make an offering before you leave. It made the hair on the back of my next stand up!
- Pros: Ambience
- Cons: Desc. of artifacts

I though this was the biggest rip-off of my whole holiday.
Two small rooms filled with junk.
Sorry.
NOT WORTH IT
by HaremHoney
This plae charged me $5 to take a less than 10 minute walk thru two junk filed rooms they claimed were a museum. I had to walk around by myself and guess what everything was. It was awful..... This is a tourist trap on the same level as those "ghost town" places out West. Don't do it!!!
- Pros: portrait-marie-laveau
- Cons: everything, not-friendly, over-priced-junk
