What users are saying:
A basic hotel with just enough Old-World charm.

The Scene
This hotel was built as a private residence in 1852 and renovated in 1998. It is attractive for its wrought-iron lace balconies, brick courtyard and antique-looking furnishings. It also offers a good proximity to Bourbon Street.
The Details
The 29 rooms span three floors and are best suited for sleeping and washing up--don't plan on spending a lot of time lingering here. At just a block and a half from Bourbon Street, the neighborhood is often noisy. But this drawback feels like a fair trade for the ridiculously low rates. The prices are especially appealing to travelers who would rather spend money on sightseeing and Hurricanes than posh surroundings. The staff can arrange for packages that include plantation, swamp and cemetery tours.

We made reservations 6 months in advance to be sure we would pick the right place. And we did - St. Peter House is very charming and romantic! Our room had a high canopy bed, antique marble tables, and lace curtained door to the balcony with table and chairs to relax and peoplewatch. We even had a bottle of champagne from the manager when we arrived. Everyone was friendly and told us where to go for tours and good food. Especially Wanda, Billy, Amy, and Deshandra were very helpful. We will be back for our anniversary for sure!
- Pros: Location, Staff, Affordable
- Cons: No parking
