I'm with Harry! It would take magic to get this place back to it's former self. Years ago it was a good place to get some late night, or early morning, eats, but those days are gone. The service is rude and the food is lousy. They are definitely living off of past reputations. If you don't believe me, just go waste your money and find out for yourself.
Good food, good service

I loved this place. Just wanted a good burger that didnt break me. My husband & I stopped in & loved it. Our little waiter was great & the food was so good we went back the next morning for breakfast & that was great too. Ignor the bad reviews. Some people think they should get a 5 star restaurant for nothing. Not everyone will be happy with this. I saw several people get up & walk out when they realized colorful the place was. Stupid, ignorant people. Try it. You'll love it. Can't wait to go back.
- Pros: great food at good price
- Cons: none

The folks down the street at HeadQuarters Hair Salon told us to go here for burgers and we loved it. It was great to go to New Orleans and get great , fun service at these 2 places and we went back for breakfast . they make the best breakfast around and for a very good price. I found the prices in New Orleans very cheap and the people friendly.
- Pros: very good price and yummy food
- Cons: none

other things on the menu sooner than later.

RUDE SERVICE, MISGUIDING MENU, "IN & OUT" SCAM, NO SEATING & LONG WAIT:
by harryanderson
First of all, anyone who gives the Clover Grill a good review has got to be an employee.
RUDE SERVICE:
Some of the worst service I've ever had in my life.
I walked up to the counter to ask for a fork and the cook told me to "sit down and shut up".
IN & OUT
The blast the music so loud that it pierces your ear drums. They do that to ensure you'll leave immediately when you're done eating.
MISGUIDING MENU
Sorry, but I think anyone who charges for onions is out of their mind.
If you order a fully dressed cheese burger w fries from Tropical Isle and it's $7.50.
Now order the same exact thing from Clover Grill is like $14.75. Because Clover Grill charges you for everything and I mean EVERYTHING. The hamburger is like $4.49 and then you pay 2.09 for fries and 1.19 for each condiment. (Cheese, tomatoes, onions and pickles, etc...) And by the time it's fully dressed the way you like it, you've went well over $12.00.
NO SEATING & LONG WAIT.
It's not always snail slow- just most of the time.
I've eaten here six times and each time I get the same horrible service. Why? Because after the storm it was the only place to eat breakfast. but now that Deja Vu is back open 24 hours, I can say "Sionara scammers!"
- Pros: It's 24 hours.
- Cons: Worst Service Ever, Exessively Loud "Diva Music", And your total bill ends up to be twice as much as you expected.
This pink-tiled, open-kitchen eatery has cranked out reasonably priced diner favorites since 1950.

In Short
Bustling waitstaff works the 11-seat lunch counter with a veneer of playful attitude. Late-night clubbers flock to the tiny joint for cheap, filling meals and rapid-fire banter from behind the counter. Standard diner fare such as omelettes and hash browns and short-order staples such as sandwiches and burgers are served with a distinctive swish. Beef fans can dive into the hefty cheeseburgers; each one is griddle-baked under a domed hubcap for last-minute melting.
Just what the Bourbon Ordered

This place was great! Very small and quite not what you would expect in New Orleans. Food was good and service was really nice. Has a scary bathroom in the alley but that just added to our experiences there! Definitly go late night after you spent all night at Utopia or Red Rhino.
- Pros: Off the Beaten Path, Great Food, Fast Service
Ckicken-Fried Steak w/side of gravy
by mackraem
Get the chicken fried on a toasted bun, dressed and with a side of gravy. Delicious. Makes you want to slap your---, well you can figure out the rest. My good o'le New Orleans, it's the best.
It's All About the Ambience

Just a warning to the health nuts: Earl, the head cook, likes to drench everything in butter. My grits were literally swimming in it. But that guy is a born stand-up comedian. He can entertain all of his customers even if he sometimes comes across as a Southern Don Rickles. I will bet that when you leave the Clover you'll have one big grin slapped across your goofy mug.
- Pros: very informal, lots of bantering, easy to find
- Cons: , seats about 20-25, close quarters
Something different

If you get tired of the wonderful creole and cajun food and start craving a good old hamburger or a home style breakfast this is the very best place to go in the Quarter. The food is good, the value is great, and the staff are fun. It is a real New Orleans experience. If you go once you'll be back!
- Pros: value, fun atmosphere
