NOLA's best morning food!!. My husband and I just came back from the 2011 Sugar Bowl. We stayed at Hotel Villa Convento (across the street from Croissant D' Patisserie.) This restaurant has the best almond croissants I have ever tasted!! Their King Cakes are excellent, too!! The worst part was they were closed on Tuesdays--(street cleaning day.) The restaurant staff is friendly and helpful and can suggest mornings foods for your "extreme headache." I can't wait to go back!!

Best Croissant in New Orleans....or anywhere.. Used to live just down the block and had breakfast there daily. Soft, flaky always extraordinary Besides hand made daily with pure butter and fresh fruit and other varities..none lacking.. The ambienance is set with large flower vases on the counters and smaller ones on each table. The authentic French accents of the owners were very nice and always friendly. It's the first place I go when in the French Quarter. The other is Napoleans and their Muffalata

dissappointed. This place has great atmosphere and the breads and pastries are excellent. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering a ham & cheese sandwich and that's why my rating is only "average". Instead of a nice Black Forest Ham, Brie or Swiss cheese and a classy dijon mustard, they used Spam, American cheese, iceberg lettuce and yellow package mustard! I've had better sandwiches in public schools. They could do a little better with their choice of ingredients. Easy to fix. Otherwise stick to the coffee and pastries. You won't be disappointed.

A hidden treasure. Hidden out of the way in the French Quarter, this small restaurant has both breakfast pastries and cold sandwiches, so it's definitely a good choice for breakfast or lunch should you happen to be near Ursulines. My particular favorite pastry is the Napoleon, but avoid the hot chocolate! It's awful. It's definitely a place you should visit at least once. Service is cafeteria-style--don't expect to sit down and have a waitress come take your order.

Sheer luck!. We stumbled across this eatery when we were checking into a bed and breakfast. I initially purchased just one pastry but went back and bought three more that day. Food and coffee is excellent and prices could not be beat. Too bad they closed at 5pm. I wish I had found this cafe earlier in our stay.

Cheap and Yummy!. This cafe was my find of the French Quarter! It has absurdly cheap prices and all their food tastes great, from cafe au lait to gumbo to croissants. Just off the main tourist area too, so it's quiet and cosy and frequented mostly by locals. A gem!
