If you are not part of a wedding party, STAY AWAY!

by Mardog at Citysearch

My husband and I stayed at the Maison Dupuy because we thought it would be nice, we checked out all the reviews and someone should mention how loud and annoying all the wedding guest are. This hotel is probably fine if you are part of one of the many weddings. If you are not, then go somewhere else. They boast about their courtyard, which is beautiful but we did not get to enjoy it becuase it was set up for two weddings on Saturday and a kid's party on Sunday. Our room was called "deluxe" but was very, very small and they placed us next door to a very loud and rude mother of the bride. They could have at least had the consideration to keep wedding guest away from non- wedding guest. They also don't tell you that you will have to listen to the wedding band half the night whether you like it or not. When we were leaving we struck up several conversations with others who did not expect all the wedding commotion. They were just as disappointed. This was my third visit to the Quarter and I plan on going again but I will never stay at this hotel again. The room was clean but there are just too many choices to ever go to this one. The courtyard is nice for parties but if it is not your party stay away.

  • Pros: Location
  • Cons: Caters to weddings and parties, forgets to be considerate to other guests

Incredible property

by swearden at Citysearch

Maison Dupuy has been a treasure for every trip to N.O. The quality, the service, location, charm, staff, food etc., etc., etc., are exceptional. I only hope it has survived Katrina with it's usual grace and will welcome us yet again...soon.

Have you tried the gumbo?

by larryslimshady at Citysearch

Had the best time and attended the most romantic wedding in the courtyard. To top it off, the food at the wedding was not at all typical, it was fabulous! The best gumbo I have ever had. I had it the next day for lunch in the dinning room.

My room was charming and the bed linins were great. Room service and service in general was top rate.

What can I say, but I wish I were getting married, I'd have my wedding in that romantic courtyard, and stay much longer than I did

Thank you Maison Dupuy for being wonderful and giving me a beautiful memory.

A collection of town homes in a quiet but convenient setting.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
This complex of seven town homes surrounds a lovely courtyard in the quieter back section of the French Quarter. It is closer to seedy Rampart Street than the Mississippi River, but the lovely property exudes a quiet, residential air which its guests love. While removed from the hubbub, it's still convenient to all the action in the Quarter.

The Details
Opened in 1975, the hotel evokes the past with ironwork balconies, exposed brick and a semi-tropical courtyard. A $5-million renovation rejuvenated the guest rooms with the use of soft colors and florals and the addition of impressive marble bathrooms. Be sure to ask for a room with a balcony that opens over the courtyard. Sitting on such a perch with a cup of morning coffee is serenity itself. You'll also find lots of contemporary amenities likes video games, a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi.

Pleasantly surprised

by uvachief at Citysearch

We got a deal on this hotel for about $100 per night. The door said $469 per night. I would never pay more than $150 per night except maybe for Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest. Rooms are smaller than I expected but nicely appointed. Service is great. Location is perfect. 3 blocks off Bourbon street and just off center of the FQ. However, near Rampart Street which is not too beautiful. Has on premises parking but why you would need a car in the FQ is beyond me. Dominque's is there as well.
