great service and bar.

by ecanndallas

my friend and i visited the bombay club when we were staying at the prince conti hotel during our spring break trip. we had a truly great experience. i ordered the fish and chips and was not disappointed. they have a really extensive martini selection and our bartender was great and recommended drinks for us even though we werent even sitting at the bar. ( and he didnt just recommend the 12 dollar martinis either) i would have to recommend this restaurant for anyone who just wants a low key dinner in a nice quiet place with a wonderful courtyard as well.

  • Pros: nice bar area with a wide selection
  • Cons: a little pricey.

Disappointing New Years Dinner

by wild_dog

Avoid this restaurant. The bar is okay if you just want drinks. My date and I ate an early dinner here on New Years Eve, 2004-2005. We had a set menu. Nobody else was in the restaurant except for a European couple just married. Dinner for two cost $171. I had a $10 martini and my date had a glass of water. For the price of that meal, you'd expect the food to be amazing. It was not. The food was disappointing. The duck soup was bland and heavy. The walnut salad was not as good as it could have been. The veal was pretty good, but not worth $72. Dessert was okay. It could have been better for those prices. I've had fabulous dinners at upscale restaurants before, and this was not one of them. It's a tourist trap. Avoid eating here. Drinks are okay.

  • Pros: expensive feel, live music, good drinks
  • Cons: , tourist trap, food disappointing

Sophisticated martini-cigar bar and restaurant caters to a mature crowd.

by Tara Lis

The Scene
An upscale retreat from nearby Bourbon Street, this stylish hotel bar is outfitted with a British Colonial design and offers tasteful live jazz and blues music. Overstuffed, leather wing chairs accompany tables, while comfortable stools line the handsome wood bar in the refined, yet friendly, space. Skilled mixologists accommodate specialty martini drink orders along with gentlemanly mainstays like bourbon and scotch. Fetch a cigar from the humidor for dual sipping and smoking pleasure. A small outdoor patio provides a pleasant open-air atmosphere on not-too-warm nights and a game room offers regulation billiards.

The Draw
Groups of friends and cozy couples on dates who want to escape or avoid the teenage mayhem on Bourbon Street retreat to this upscale watering hole for more than 100 different varieties of fancy martinis and Creole-inspired comfort food. Most are hotel guests, loyal locals and theater patrons.
