I am a spa and salon regular. (and a man...straight man). In general, I have been all over the place. And when I get wherever I'm going; I book an appointment at a spa/salon to enjoy a brief escape from my grueling occupation. I have booked services on 4 different cruise ships, many different casino resorts, several high end hotels, and several different independently operated spa/salons similar to H2O. (Oh yeah, and even at Disney.) That's just a bit of my salon resume so you can understand how I base my opinion on H2O (Met. Rd.) I am very easy going but I am a "stickler" for detail. I never moan, groan, or whine at inadequate service. However, I do let my gratuity reflect my opinion of the service. I just read a bad review of this spa and completely disagree. I just finished a sports pedicure, sports manicure, facial, and Turkish massage at this location and I feel like I got the best service from friendly, smiling professionals that I have ever had to date. Although I am pretty easy going; it takes a lot to impress me. I was impressed. I shouldn't mention by name the three professionals that helped me today, but they are in the top of their field. And the Turkish massage, they called it a signature service, was unbelievable. I highly recommend it to any guy or girl. I have been to this spa twice before and have had a similar experience. It passed the test that I usually demand of hotels, restaurants, and most all service types.......consistency!! Thanks for a job well done H2O and I see you in 2 weeks. Can't wait.
Pros: parking good, service great, value great,
Cons: none

This was a bad experience from the beginning. I arrived at front desk to find that they had lost my Sports Pedicure appointment. The young lady at the desk; through her attitude led me to believe that is was my fault. After it was found I was sent upstairs to prepare for the pedicure. Upon my arrival I was clearly met by a young lady who was having a very bad day. Not to mention was her attitude was unbelievably rude; but, she left my feet soaking an unbelievably long time while she disappeared. When she returned I let her know that I did not appreciate the service I was getting and through her spitefull nature it got worse. When I departed the spa I informed the front desk of the horrible service; however, the management staff did not care. No appology was given and my money was taken. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Pros: Location
Cons: Attitude of the employees and a management staff that only cares about money.

I have visited H2O on Metairie Road off and on for 20 years. I cannot say service is always 100% perfect but overall I usually have good experiences when I go there. The salon is usually busy. It's a popular well-reputed salon. Clients seeking a more intimate atmosphere should go elsewhere. Sometimes appointments run late. It happens. I have always found the staff pleasant and helpful. I did have one "bad haircut" which prompted me to stop visiting for a while but overall I've gotten courteous and professional service. I think products and services probably are overpriced but that's to be expected in Old Metairie. I also feel there is a certain degree of product-pushing but it's easy enough to decline the products if one doesn't want them. H2O has competent attentive stylists who actually 1) listen to their clients during the consultation phase and 2) attempt to fulfill the parameters discussed during consult. In post-Katrina New Orleans/Metairie area, this is less common than it should be among the stylist/salon community. An H2O stylist just corrected an appalling chop job done to my hair at another salon. During the consult I felt the stylist was sensitive to my distress and honest about the limitations of what she could do to "tweak" the cut into better shape. I felt I was treated fairly and the new cut does look better and will grow out looking better. I can't say much about the owners of the salon or whether they ill-treat their employees. I do know that many of their staff members have been with H2O since it opened. I've mainly visited H2O for haircut and styling. I've also gone to the spa for brow shaping and eyelash tint. I have never had a poor experience and was always pleased with how I looked afterward. Overall, a very nice place.
Pros: COMPETENT AND ATTENTIVE STYLISTS, Good service, pleasant atmosphere and staff
Cons: The salon is a large place and a bit busy, less product pushing would be nice

Read my lips...Do not get any services from this business!!! A bunch of hypocrites and low lifes!!! As much as they lead you to believe, non of those people know how to run a company. The owner, management and SOME employees are a bunch of Snooty "you know what"! Christians....ya right...PLEASE! The concept of "it's an awesome day at H2O", should be flushed down the toilet! Anyway...All that read this, let me say to you..YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED BETTER ELSE WHERE!
Pros: spa
Cons: everything but the spa

I can't believe how blind I am when I went to h2o. At first I thought it was all high class and awesome but really its not. Let me start with the owners, they are so lousy that they care too much about money and themselves than their employees or their clients. What kind of Christian are they? I thought they don't believe in gambling or stealing? Well they cheat people with their prices and they do shop charges! Not to mention that if you don't show up for your appointment they will charge you no matter what! If you do go there make sure you tip your service provider and not the owners. They are not the one that are doing the work their employees are. What is up with the prices? A nail polish bottle is 9 dollars when you can get it anywhere else cheaper I guarantee. I can't believe how much their employees are getting paid there. How can they survive?! Anyways the hairstylist is okay it depends on who and the nail techs are really nice and sweet. When you talk to them they are down to earth and funny. They make you feel welcome not like down stairs. Not to mention the massage therapist, they work wonders! My body feels great after one session. Thats all i really needed was one and don't have to come back and be charged an arm and a leg. Seriously I wouldn't recommend.
Pros: Upstairs service providers, vip parking
Cons: the owners

I went in a few months back with about 2" natural light brown roots and light blonde hilites throughout the rest of my hair. I asked for a hilite retouch and a few lowllights similar to Lauren Conrad's hair. I left ruined! My older red haired stylist gave me orange roots with grey lowlights all through the bottom and overly bleached and cracking hilites. When I politely told the stylist that my color was what I had in mind, she freaked out on me. She started loudly yelling at me in front of everyone, so loudly that one of the twin owners was called over. The owner just suggested we add MORE bleach hilites. I left that day with severly fried hair. I called to complain the next day and was given a temporary light brown color all over since there wasn't anything else that could be done after that much damage. I have been trying to grow my damaged hair out ever since...
Pros: none
Cons: The price, the quality of work, the ownership.

Well my 9:15 appt got me seen by 9:45 and I walked out of there at 1:30. My stylist was friendly enough and when my roots came out orange she was very willing to try and make the correction right then and there. I feel my cut was averyage and frankly I could have picked up a $10 box of color and done about the same job.Just like the others I too felt it was really loud. This place was highly recomended to me, I looked up the reviews before I went and should have taken them into consideration. O'well now I know. I don't see myself booking any more appointments there.

When people write reviews it is because they are either happy or they hada terrible experience. From the reviews it looks like H2O is fast becoming ONE OF THE WORST salon & spa locations in the city. They really do not care about the customer - they only want to see how many people they can get through the doors............

the stylists have talent. the business side is shallow. I agree that it is overpriced. (and it's not going to your stylist) The vip area is more private, I found out.
