we must be in the wrong place!

Maybe being from Florida gives me higher standards, but I at least expect a window over the door instead of tinfoil. The wall had a hole in it, the ceiling was cracked. All in all this room was more like a cheap motel than a hotel rated so highly in 2000. Certainly not worth the $180.00 it cost for 2 nights.
Easy on the wallet and convenient to the airport.

The Scene
The Travelodge name is as familiar and reliable to American roadsters as mileage markers on the highway. This particular property is so simple in its offerings, however, that it's difficult to imagine a reason to choose it over other bargain-basement chain hotels. That said, its location across the highway from Zephyr Stadium and the New Orleans Saints headquarters surely accounts for much of its business. In addition, the free parking holds RVs and large trucks.
The Details
The 80 renovated guest rooms center around a courtyard pool area. All are modern-looking and clean, if void of character. The hotel also contains a bar, meeting rooms and laundry facilities. There's no fitness area, but exercise devotees may drive to the nearby Elmwood Fitness Center. Supposedly, if you show your room key, you'll get a discount.
