Hands down best place to have a glass of wine or cocktail & get the best food served at a bar! Great music, something for everyone. If you want an unusual selection of wines & or alcohol this is the place to go. Can you say cheese! 30+ cheese options. The best fries fried in duck fat no less! They serve food late & night & most of the dishes are small plates you can share --- perfect bar fare but not bar like food (think poached oysters over grilled bread, crawfish boil salad, filet of beef bites over crustinis). Go early for relaxed wine & pre dinner snack, go after 9pm for a hopping place to drink & socialize, go late night at 11 or 12 for a late night snack or dinner. I think they serve until 1am.

great place for happy hour before the late night crowds. delicious cheese and duck fat fries, and the chef and servers are always happy to talk about selections. excellent wine list as well.

I'd have to say, the Chef really goes out of his way! The food is always interesting and always good! I love this little nook, but after certain hours (i.e., 8ish-til) the bar service does suffer a bit. The best bartenders are Terry and Amy so call ahead and see when they are there. Evan doesn't seem to bartend much anymore, but he's awesome too. The wine, food, atmosphere, and selections of beer and spirits is unquestionably worth checking out for yourself.
Pros: good choices of food, wine, licqours, beers
Cons: for best service go early or go really late

I've been going to the Delachaise for 3 years & I have to say it gets better & better! Chef Chris, who got voted best chef by New Orleans Magazine, is a master chef with an eclectic menu that changes daily. They also serve food until quite late, without the Delachaise I would have gone hungry on numerous occassions. There's comments on here about the lack of floor service but you have to keep in mind this is a bar that happens to serve amazing food (I don't know of another bar like it) & the chef is back in the kitchen making each dish individually & he brings out each order right to your table! If he's not busy he'll talk food & travels with you table side. AND thank you to the Delachaise for making changes to the bartending staff. At one point there were a couple female bartenders that were often rude (I avoided the nights they worked) but NO MORE, they now have the BEST bartenders in the city! The new bartenders are helpful, knowledgeable & Nice, one being perky Amy. The wine selection is by far the best in the city & there's a wide range of unique spirits & some great unusual beers. I'm almost afraid to post on here because I don't want it to become anymore popular than it is. Sunday - Wednesday are best for a more quiet dinner & conversation come late Thursday night through the weekend the place comes alive. OH, & I can't forget the music. The owner, Evan, must spend hours perfecting his playlist on his Ipod which belts out the best music selection! Thanks Delachaise for creating my own personal Cheers!
Pros: Wine, Food, Music, Scene
Cons: It's not a white tablecloth dining experience but has white tablecloth quality food

I have been going to the delachaise for over a year and a half now and love it. It's the place with the most variety of wines by the glass and interesting liquors. I was in the other night with a group of girlfriends and we had the best time as always. The bartenders Egan and Neil are not only very helpful but so cute as well. The food is great and they always recommend the best things to us. Since moving to New Orleans the delachaise has become my favorite spot to start out any night or just drop in for a glass of wine. I took my family and everyone visiting me this mardi gras to the delechaise and they all loved it as much as I do. -KT
Pros: interesting new food, hot bartenders, lots of wines by glass
Cons: little noisy

I don't know about you, but I had a great time the other night at the Delachaise. The tall brunette girl and the French guy were a great duo and gave great service. As long as you understand that this is an upscale bar for people who apprecriate the finer things in life, you will be able to have an awesome experience. If you enjoy sophistication in a warm, comfortable envoronment, I highly recomment that you try the Delachaise; the food was exquisite and the drinks were superior! Atleast the bartender didn't pass out on the bar like some other female bartender did on some friends of mine a few weeks ago... I had a great night!!!
Pros: service was great, food was delicious, drinks were superb

Their web site says, "Let us plan your event." Let me count they ways they do NOT plan your event and with the exception of the chef, the staff is extremely rude. They all act like the customer is an inconvenience! Yes, you should go to Delachaise if: 1. you like rudeness 2. you don't need service 3. you want to pretend that you are a cocktail waitress and get all of your own drinks during your event. 4. you like to hear about the gratuity more than 10 times in the night ever thought there is no real service. 5. you want to thank the server who did clear the plates from your table after over 2 hours and then hear his response of, "yea, well we don't have waiters here." Those are my top 5, the list goes on an on. The next day we had a different event at Sun Ray Grill. It was fabulous! The polar opposite of Delachaise. Sun Ray Grill had friendly servers, fabulous food in nice quanities, wonderful wine and the list goes on. Bottomline: Delachaise, the only thing you have going for you is the building and Chef Chris. Shape up or one day when your doors close, we won't be sad to see it happen. Get a real manager who actually cares about the guests!
Pros: Great food, cool architecture and location
Cons: RUDE service--especially that Thierry guy and the Wine list, although decent prices, leaves much to be desired.

The food & wine are excellent . The bar/restaurant is set up like a Euro bar in that you order your food with the bartender... but the great thing is the chef himself brings out your food and if it's not busy he'll talk to you about food, wine and his travels over the world! The owner, Evan, bartends on Sunday nights & I think on Mondays & Tuesdays. Evan's fun to talk to and service is always excellent & when he's there he plays the BEST music!! (I saw a review on here that the service is bad... I've never had bad service there & I've been probably 50x). If you're looking for a "hip hot spot" go Thursday - Saturday, if you're looking for a romantic place or just a place to eat some really really good food & drink some really really good wine go early in the week. & get the cheese plate but EVERYTHING on the menue is great!
Pros: cute, great food & wine
Cons: can get busy on the weekend, go early or late

Too many things went wrong to mention! Terrible service! Don't go for food unless dining alone at bar, otherwise you will be left to fend for yourself. They need to hire a waitress. Bartenders are rude and cannot quell the attitude.
Pros: I won't have to go back!
Cons: COMPLETE LACK OF SERVICE!!

I was thoroughly surprised by the discreet little bar, the Delachaise and it's amazing food. I had the Shrimp and Pesto pasta, which was a tangy lemon pesto with shrimp and penne pasta. It was delish! I can't wait to go back tomorrow night and try something new again!
Pros: Open late, which is good in Post-K Nola!
Cons: None that I can think of!
