Bad experience with the office staff but owner's wife returned my call and we were able to talk through things. This office carries a difficult to find frame that my husband prefers so we hope they'll be able to work through their office staff problems and become customer service oriented again.

Pros: Lindberg Frames

Cons: Poor payment and appt policies voiced by office staff

I have used Uptown Eye Care for 3 or 4 years now and I have always been very pleased with my service. They have been willing to ship contacts to me wherever I may be staying, and their staff has gone above and beyond to work with me. You truly get what you pay for at this office, excellent service and a superb selection.

The first time I went there the experience was so-so. After a year I was told that they would not fill my valid prescription without a new eye exam. This would include an $85 contact "fitting" although my contacts only come in one size. All Acuvue Oasys come in only one size. I told her I would rather skip the fitting and just do the exam to check my prescription. I was told she would ask and call me back. I called back after two days. She said she called but I have voice mail on both phones. She never called and tried to pass off the blame to the customer. I asked if I could have my prescription info so I could tell which eyes my last set went into and she said that she couldn't do this over the phone. I asked if I could come into the office and get the info and she said that I would have to set up an eye exam because this info had expired. This was not the receptionist, but a more senior lady who I was passed off to for everything but the initial phone call. Prices are much more expensive than other places and I thought that the service at Uptown Eyes would have reflected this.

Pros: Close to my house

Cons: Service is terrible and price is expensive!

I had a great experience. They have a broad selection of frames and sunglasses. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. And they have great prices for the quality you receive. I got glasses and contacts and could not have been happier. The doctor gave me the best exam that I have ever had. I would recommend Uptown Eyecare to everyone!!!

I specifically asked over the phone if they had Saturday appointments and was told yes and was scheduled for a Saturday morning appointment. When I arrived Saturday I was told (rather rudely) that they didn't schedule eye appointments for Saturdays, I assured them I had an appointment. They checked their ‘book’ where my appointment was clearly visible to both us; the women then said there was a note and that someone had tried to call me–but they didn’t even have my correct phone number. No one apologized and the staff was rude about their own mistake!

Very friendly staff who show genuine concern. They have lots of really beautiful frames at reasonable prices. the store is beautiful,too. The exams have always been on time, yet never rushed. I love this place!

You will be charged for additonal fittings. You will also be charged for a contact lense that does not fit properly if it is not an inexpensive disposable lense off the shelf. These procedures/practices are never explained at you first appointment.

Great service and selection of glasses. Oliver Peoples, Gucci, etc. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing glasses or contacts.
