A high-class hotel overlooking the French Quarter all the way to the Mississippi River.. The Scene
While the French Quarter is right outside, there's plenty within this hotel's compound to keep you entertained. The Greek Revival townhouses center around a Hollywood-glamorous swimming pool, and the on-site restaurant is available for room service at all hours. There's also a lounge offering local drinks from Hurricanes to brandy milk punch, and a jazz combo plays on the weekends.

The Details
The management wants you to believe you are experiencing the French Quarter as its namesake, Jean-Baptiste LeMoyne, did back in the 1800s. The four-poster beds, period chandeliers, sitting rooms and exposed brick walls certainly help. But one of the hotel's greatest strengths is the attention paid to the needs of the contemporary businessperson. Meeting rooms can be arranged to simulate classrooms or boardrooms, and you may fax, copy and Fed Ex, all from the front desk. Staff members are available for secretarial work for a fee.

Bring your earplugs. I guess this hotel is not insulated because everytime someone on our hall would open or close their door, it would vibrate our room. A lone saxaphone player on the street kept us up most of one night, the garbage trucks the next and finally the hotel fire alarm kept us up the last night. Oh yeah, and don't expect your room to be cleaned before 5:00pm. Housekeeping is s-l-o-w. And on top of all that, the valet put a dent in our brand new car while it was in the parking gargage.
