Very much improved on flavor and consistancy.. We have been to Applebees over the years in the past and it reminded me of the old saying in sales "Quick, Good, and Cheap - pick two." The last three times we have been to this particular Applebees we have been pleased with our meals. My husband loves the Grilled Chicken Asian Salad, which he orders every time. I've had the Riblettes, the Shrimp and Broccolli Pasta Alfredo and one of the Weight Watchers entrees. Every one of the dinners has been tasty, fresh, and satisfying. They have changed something for the better and the food has more flavor than in the past. We also like the hum of activity and the cleanliness of the tables. Needless to say, the price makes it easy to go whenever you just don't feel like cooking.
Big portions of mainstream American fare, served up in a convivial, family atmosphere..
In Short
A low-key, friendly environment attracts plenty of families to this reliable chain. Kids in the big booths--often clutching free balloons and crayons--usually outnumber adults sitting at the bar. The menu offers filling American fare with no surprises, from mozzarella sticks and nachos to rollups and burgers. Entrees include steaks, fajitas and main dish salads. The calorie-conscious can select from a list of Weight Watchers-inspired dishes like mesquite chicken salad and grilled tilapia with mango salsa.
Neighborhood restaurant in a parking lot. I've had better TV dinners. I'm ashamed to say that I ate at an Applebee's once, because coworkers had a going away party at one. Not only do I not understand how these places can remain open in the New Orleans area, I don't understand how the company remains solvent anywhere. Never overestimate the intelligence of the people of the U.S. I guess.
