I attended two luncheons with the same group of 30 people at Ormond Plantation. Both times I was very pleased with the flavor of the food as well as the service of the waitstaff. I enjoyed the plantation's peaceful ambience, especially the beautiful old oak trees laden with Spanish moss. Tasteful holiday decor added to the spirit of the season. I and other members of the group had very nice comments about our luncheon experiences and I'm sure will return there again.

We had our wedding reception here and the food was fabulous. The muffalata's were great, the shrimp fettucine was fabulous, and the open bar was a hit! The DJ was also really good. The Manor itself is very beautiful however it does look like it needs a little TLC. But great place for a reception, wedding, party, etc.

Thank you Robin and Chef Richard and all your staff for such a fabulous week! Our team from BP and the Prince's Foundation love to plan our stays at Ormond. We consider you our home in St. Charles Parish. Everyone goes out of their way to make everything as close to perfect as possible. The setting is magical, the food spectacular and the warm hospitality fitting of our Southern roots. We look forward to sharing future gatherings with you all!

This B&B/Plantation is 10 minutes from the N.O. Airport! Who knew??? We arrived after 7:30 p.m. on a Sunday night. Made a call and minutes later we were met with our keys, instructions, and a quick tour. Then we were on our own! And I do mean on our own! We were the only guests that night. Yes, a bit eerie, but also a rather fun experience. The next morning was more lively, with other staff there, too. Chef Richard prepared the BEST breakfast and chatted with me about River Road history. This a comfy place to stay in spite of it's large size. It would be fun to hear more about it!

Robin and her staff were incredible, and prefect. On the night before the wedding we had the rehearsal dinner at Ormond Plantation afterward I and two of my bridesmaids retired into the Bridal Suite to relax and get some sleep. On the morning of my Big Day Robin and her cook made us breakfast, to make sure we could make it thru the busy day. I can’t express the joy, the pleasure, the excitement when my husband and I first saw our wedding pictures; the Plantation and the Oak Tree looked amazing. I would recommend using Ormond Plantation

The rooms were massive & beautifully decorated with hardwood floors & massive four post beds. Our room had double doors leading onto the front veranda which spanned the entire front of the house. Sitting out on the veranda overlooking the Mississippi River in the evening, I felt like I'd stepped back in time, especially with the New Years fireworks sounding eerily reminiscent of cannon fire. We had very peaceful & relaxing stay. Unfortunately, we only had one night to enjoy the plantation, as we were just passing through on our way back home from the Christmas holiday. Ormond was one of the only plantations in the area willing to let us stay for only one night & we're glad they did because we feel like we found a hidden gem. It's not as well know as some of the other plantations in the area & therefor it was much quieter & a bargain to stay at. The owner was very helpful & accommodating. Ormond is towards the beginning of the Plantation road so it's a perfect place to start a trip to see all the Planations & it's only about 20-25 min. outside of New Orleans, so its a quick trip back into the city for the bustle of the night life. It was an overall very pleasant experience & I highly recommend it to anyone passing that way. Unfortunately, the little restaurant in the plantation was closed when we were there, so we didn't get to try the food. We'll definitely be venturing back though & hopefully for a longer stay next time.
