HORRIBLE Customer Treatment. VERYYYY MISLEADING. They get you into the door and then dont care about you anymore. They do not mention that upon cancelling your membership, you will have to use all credits within one MONTH!!! Most gift certificates expire within a year. Once I was made aware that I had to use all credits by March 2, I was then told on March 1st that they meant March 1st and so was unable to use any remaining credits = $345 down the drain. Though this detail is in the fine print I'm sure, a trusting customer deserves to be advised. In addition service is mediocre. NEVER GO HERE!! They do not care about massaging but in making money by manipulating you!
HORRIFIC Customer Service.
I have never been treated more disrespectfully than by the people I spoke with at Massage Envy at the Tchoupitoulas location. My mom transferred 6 massages into my name and was told by THREE different receptionists in Austin that I would also be able to transfer them as well. I called to transfer one into my boyfriend's name and when the receptionist told me that I couldn't, I asked to speak to the Clinic Administrator. The Clinic Administrator, Ashley, claimed that it was against corporate policy for people to transfer massages into other people's names even though my mom HAD JUST DONE IT, and THREE different people told her that I'd be able to do it also. When I asked to be transferred to corporate headquarters she hung up on me. I called back several times and beyond repeatedly interrupting me whenever words would begin to come out of my mouth, she accused me of "harassing her receptionists" (= asking for the manager) and being an "irate customer" (= wanting to file a complaint). Logistically, becoming irate...while tempting...would have been impossible since she would yell words into the phone any time I would start to speak.
Really, the issue was that nobody WANTED to transfer my massages into someone else's name because it takes too much work on their part. But since they can't admit that to a customer, Ashley just covered for their laziness by turning the situation around on me.
The people at this location are so unhappy, they feel it necessary to make their customers miserable because they are envious of anyone who is not part of the daily nightmare they have chosen to call "life".
Don't go here. Ever.
And if you do, ask Ashley how it is possible for someone so rude and despicable to work at a place whose core values are stress relief and relaxation. If Massage Envy really stands behind those values, they will fire her immediately for the sake of future customers.
Inexperienced therapists, TERRIBLE customer service..
I tried a few different therapists at the Tchoupitoulas location, hopeing to find someone I felt knew what they were doing. After these several attempts I really feel that the service I received is mediocre at best. I asked management for a referral, which that alone took weeks and weeks of calling to speak to anyone.
My overall impression is that they are first there to take your money. You are nothing but a dollar sign, which tends to go against an establishment in the business of health and well being.
Second is to hire staff fresh out of Blue Cliff, if trained at all. And third is to ignore or later berate their customers.
I do not, under any circumstances, recommend visiting this company. Save your money and go to Earthsavers instead.
