I have been having problems with my truck’s ac since last summer. Well it’s starting to get hot so I stopped by AAMCO on Old Spanish Trail to have them checked it out. I thought it had a freon leak and I was expecting to have to buy a complete new ac system. Well to my surprise, I only needed a switch to get the AC back and working. I can’t believe how foolish I was riding around in a hot truck because of an $80 repair.
I had a big oil spot in my drive way. My neighbor thought it looked like transmission fluid. He suggested to go and see AAMCO on Old Spainish Trail. So I made an appointment to have my truck inspected. The guys looked at my truck and assured me my transmission was fine. They explained that the motor oil filter was a leaking. They did an oil and filter change on my truck and the leak was fixed. If you are looking for a honest mechanic then give these guys a try.
Stopped in an had an oil change. The mechanics were so nice and respectful. The manager, Billy is so sweet and kind.
Since I had such a good experience at the Metairie AAMCO, I decided to give the Slidell AAMCO a try, especially since I live. I had my oil changed at the AAMCO Slidell location for $29.99. The great thing was that the guys inspected my car while doing the oil change. The mechanic explained that I had a few needed repairs but the repairs were not critical. He went on to explain that this was normal wear items and not a safety concers. Wow, No high pressure to sell me things I really did t need. Honesty and good service is a great way to run a business.
On the way to work this morning my truck started making a weird noise when stopping. I mention the situation to my boss who recommended AAMCO. He said he knew the owner, Paul Alline, and he knew that he would not messed me over. I called and made an appointment for lunch time, When I got there, Paul the owner had left, but Billy the manager promised to take care of me. He had a mechanic look at my F150 and He determined that my front brakes were worn down to metal. I asked for an approxmate price. Billy gave me a price for under $300 for the complete job. I agreed to have the work done for the agreed upon price. A hour later my truck was completed and the final bill came in $17 cheaper than the original quote. I expected that my bill would start at $300 and they would find a increase my bill once the work started. I was wrong, what a great experience. A mechanic shop that honors their work and is worried about their reputation. Apparently these guys just don't do transmission work but now they work on the entire car. I have scheduled my wife and mothers car for a tune up next week. I will try and follow up with their car repair results.
TRUSTWORTHY AND HELPFUL!!!! My 2008 Mustang's AC started blowing warm air last week. My neighbor recomended AAMCO on Old Spainish Trail. She also suggested to said see Paul, the owner, and she felt that he would take care of me. Mr. Paul, had his guys look at my car. He determined that I had a Freon leak and I needed a refill. Once my AC was refilled he found that I had a AC hose leaking. Mr. Paul, had his guys replace the line and I had my car within an hour and half. Wow what great people. If you have any kind of Automotive question or problem, go see Mr Paul at Aamco. Make sure to tell him that Shelly sent you!
Great service. Great group of guys. My check engine light came on in my 2006 F150 and the truck started shifting violently, so I stopped in at Slidell Ford. The service Manager (don't remember his name) said that my transmission was failing and I needed a new one. After he gave me a price of over $3200 I decided to get a second opinion. I stopped over at AutoZone to see if they could scan it. The manager Daryl said he could scan it and he came back with a 700 transmission code. Some type of transmission code. He recommended for me to bring my Car over to AAMCO on old Spainish Trail. I came in and met the owner, Paul, who seemed like a nice guy. He had one of his mechanics go and look at the car. His guy came back with an electric switch failure code in the transmission. Paul suggested that we change the torque Converter switch and see how it worked. He said if it didn't work that he would apply that $225 to any further needed repairs. The switch came in the next day and the guys at AAMCO installed the switch. Now my truck's transmission works perfectly with no check engine light. Thanks Paul . I highly recommend these guys, especially if you want a honest evaluation of your cars problem.
Great Service. I usually have my repair work performed at the Metairie AAMCO but I was in Slidell and needed an oil change. So I stopped by the AAMCO on Old Spainish Trail and as the shop in Metaire, the work was performed flawlessly. I feel better knowing that I have trained mechanics working on my truck not a minimum wage rookie tech. Just me, but I appreciate a true professional.
Green Liquid Under My Car. I went out to my 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis Saturday and noticed green fluid under the car on the drive way. My dad recommended me to go and see Paul at Aamco on Old Spainish Trail. I brought my car there and Paul looked at it immediately. When he came back he said I had a bad hose. Paul then took me out to my car and showed me the bad hose on the car. He then promised that he could have my car fixed in about an hour. True to his word, I was starting my car and on the way home within 55 mins. The biggest delay was waiting on the hose from the parts guy. I didn't know that Aamco worked on more than transmissions but I will only let the guys at Aamco work on my car in the future.
Feels like home. I have been to this AAMCO several times so I thought I need to post an update on the service. I went into the shop needing an oil change. While I waited for oil change to be done, I listen to the owner and his guys joke back and forth about different things. It was all professional but it is nice to go to a place where everyone seems happy. As far as the craftsmanship, as always, top notch.
