Bland!. Not impressed with the main course at all. The atmosphere is great and the side salad was delish the main course was bland. Ordered the creole pasta with crawfish portobella mushrooms and eggplant. It had no flavor at all. Very dissappointed and probably wont be going back anytime soon. When you live so close to New Orleans you only expect the best when it comes to seafood and this was far below my expectations.

Great atmosphere, people, and food.. This place just keeps getting better.

Calypso has a great food and atmosphere. Their employees are friendly and professional. A great place to eat in an elegant atmosphere at great prices.

After hours at Calypso is entertaining; from inventive and fun events to live music and entertainment, there is never a dull moment. The bartenders are creative and have the best martinis in town.

Always something fun going on @ Calypso Patio. always delic, always a good time. the last time I went & ordered the crab & avocado salad - so delic! Lump crab & sliced avo with the red onions, the sautéed asparagus & diced cucumbers all on top mixed spring greens. Try it.you'll dream of it

LOVE it!. Great atmosphere, awesome food!

I've been a few times and my food has always been amazing. They have a really diverse menu with really unique twists to common dishes. It can get a little noisy inside, but not enough to where you can't enjoy yourself - I usually opt to sit on the patio! Definitely give Calypso a try!

beautiful place, great ambiance, delicious food. Calypso is hands-down one of the best places to eat on the northshore. The menu is so unique & the prices are affordable with large portions. And is uniqueness shines through with the food and in the beautiful ambiance... dark mahogany bar, large windows overlooking the patio with a fountain as he centerpiece. On one of my many excursions to Calypso, I had a Homewrecker martini at $4 because it was Thursday and the tuna tostada. Wow is all i can say! So much flavor in the seared tuna but also in the sauces drizzled throughout. Duck quesadillas were tasty as well. Now that it's getting cooler, I can't wait to dine on their amazing patio. Definitely worth checking out. Oh, everyone seemed rather helpful and friendly!

Not worth the money-same food as Shoney's/Denny's. We decided to give a local restaurant a try on a reent Saturday night. Calypso is a very pretty restaurant with a beautiful bar. The restaurant was about 40-50% full yet very loud. Wide assortment of delcious martinis. We should have stopped there. We had an appetizer of coconut shrimp that were very obviously processed and the same ones available at Shoney's for 1/2 the cost. We had a chicken dish for entree that was again Shoney's. I know these came out of the pack from Sysco. The salad was good.

If we ever go back it will be for cocktails only. We really wanted to like the local non-chain establishment.
