Hi! I am Michelle Ingram and I own Zeus' Place. I would like to share a couple of things about Zeus' Place. We encourage socialization and play time for dogs who thrive on companionship. We find that exercise and play time decreases stress while in a kennel environment and make the dogs happier. Our staff asks clients, when they drop their pets off, if they like other dogs and would like them to play with others while outside.
We want your pet to be as comfortable as possible while in our care. We welcome all bedding and toys from home. We ask that anything you bring fits inside a normal washing machine, since we wash everything everyday. We ask owners not to bring their pets' most prized possessions. With all the excitement, dogs can sometimes chew things that they would not normally chew at home.
We have 20 webcams through out the building and backyard. Unfortunately, due to the logistics of the building, the cameras do not cover every kennel. Any pet staying with us can be on a webcam at any given time. If you call the main business line (504.304.4718) at any time during business hours, we will bring your pet in front of a web cam so that you can see them.
All dogs get a minimum of 4 off-leash outside times per day in our full 30 X 120 secured lot. This time is either spent with other dogs playing or alone with staff. During the hotter summer months, the dogs' out times are shorter in length, but greater in frequency. We don't want any dogs to get overheated while playing outside.
Our PlayPen has 2 cameras on it. The play pen is used for well socialized dogs that come in for daycare. Often times we will put our longer term boarders in there so that they are not kenneled for their entire stay. If they get tired or overwhelmed, we move them to another kennel for rest time.
Most dogs do leave Zeus' Place a little more tired than normal. We spend our days playing with them and running them in and out. While in their kennels during the day, they enjoy chewing on their toys or watching the dogs pass in front of their kennel. If you work a normal 8 - 5 day, your dog probably spends his time sleeping and waiting for your to come home. They typically use up more energy while staying at Zeus' Place than they do when they are at home. Most regular clients enjoy their day or two of rest after picking up their pet!
I would like everyone to know that I have an open door policy at Zeus' Place. Anyone can walk through the entire building at any time while we are open (8:30 - 5:30, 7 days a week). I want you and your pet's stay at Zeus' Place to be happy and enjoyable. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please tell any Zeus' Place worker who is there. If you prefer, please free to call me at 504.231.7865.
Thank you.

best boarding in town--paws down!

As a dog owner that works in the animal welfare field, I have very high standards when looking for a place to care for my kids when I'm away. Zeus' Place is one of the few places in town where I feel comfortable leaving my pets. The staff is always friendly and knows my dogs and their personalities. The kennels are clean and well sanitized. The staff asks if you want your dogs put in with other dogs during playtime, or if you would prefer that they had solitary yardtime, and all the suites have free webcams. My dogs are always happy to arrive, look like they're having a good time on the webcams, and look great when I come to get them. I would highly recommend Zeus' Place to anyone looking for a facility to look after their furkids when they're not around!
- Pros: caring, animal oriented staff, webcams, discounts
- Cons: none
Questionable service

My dog just got picked up and he is noticable stressed and exhausted. I have a tough dog that likes to play with others, but you have no idea how long they are locked up with multiple others. In the past we have only seen our dog on webcam once when we repeatedly requested a "suite" with cam. You can watch cats up for adoption all day long, but good luck seeing your dog that you're paying for. I would love to know the most dogs they have had in there at once. Bottom line is if you dog isn't able to hold it's own with a variety of breeds, it could be like sending a cute eighteen year old to general population prison. Oh yeah, my dogs bed is gutted. I'm sure he had a restful time with friends.
