A real New Orleans coffee shop. First off, Mojo has probably the widest variety of teas available in the city, which is a must for those of us who don't drink coffee. However, they do also have a pretty wide selection of coffees as well, which are rotated fairly frequently. The sandwiches are the perfect alternative to chain sandwich shops, and I personally recommend the Magazine St. I mean, how can you really go wrong with ham, brie, apple slices, and creole mustard? The cakes are positively delicious.

Second, and I may be a bit biased here as I literally live one block away, but the staff is infinitely more personable, helpful, and (for lack of a better term) New Orleans than "down the street" at CC's or Rue de la Course. Granted, it may take a minute or two longer to get your order. But then again, it's NEW ORLEANS. Efficiency has never been the city's strong point.

Bottom line: if you're looking for an efficient, sterile, faceless coffee factory devoid of any personality a la Starbucks, then by all means go down the street to CC's, PJ's, Rue, etc. If, on the other hand, you want to really get a feel of the area, find a unique brew that you likely won't find elsewhere, take your time, sit, relax, and just be, this is the place in this neighborhood.
