Terrible Customer Service. I'm not surprised the Cricket Club went Bankrupt. Their customer service sucks. I had my wedding there and boy was it difficult to work with these people. When I first called to find out if the date I wanted was available the event planner's assistant confirmed that it was. Two weeks later and twelve unreturned messages later, I finally had to walk in personally unannounced and corner the president himself to help me book my event. As it turns out the event planner doesn't even live in New Orleans and couldn't check her messages because something was "wrong" with her office phone. There didn't seem to be anything "wrong" when her assistant spoke with me. Two months later after absolutely no communication, I again walked into the club for an appointment made with the assistant to find that no one had any record of the appointment and, oh, by the way, we need the rest of your money in order to proceed. I had to plan the course of events that day with the president again because the event planner wasn't even in the state. This is all one week before my wedding. The president ended up getting huffy with me because I didn't want to take his suggestion about seating arrangements. He threatened to tear up my check and cancel the event right then and there along with calling the police to have me escorted out. Funny behavior for a club badly in need of money. He didn't like the fact that I pointed out the fact that the website was down with a message saying due to financial difficulties. We reluctantly came to an agreement and the event was back on. My request to have the president not work the event was not honored because (a) the event planner wasn't even in the state and (b) her assistant was mysteriously absent. My inquiries as to where she was were ignored. I can only assume that she was fired which would be par for the course for, as far as I'm concerned, she was the only responsible one there. The event went off fine and the staff was great. The food was so-so. Nothing impressive. Hopefully somebody will be able to make a success of the place, because it really is a beautiful space and a unique landmark.
