Good Pizza in Abita Springs

I took my family of 4 to Mama D's for Friday night pizza. It was not at all crowded and we were seated immediately. We ordered pizza and soda; nothing too special. The restaurant is a little crowded and the kitchen is not segregated from the eating area by anything other than the counter. That adds to the ambience but you can also hear everything the kitchen/wait staff are talking about. The crust was thin and crispy and was very tasty. The red sauce is a little on the sweet side, but also good. The restrooms were dirty and the restaurant in general is showing it's age.

• Cons: Dirty restrooms

BAD EXPERIENCE AT MAMA D'S PIZZA

I have been a customer of Mama D's ever since the day they opened. I went there tonight to eat in. We got there at 9:15pm,they close at 10:00pm. We went to sit down and were told that they would not serve us as they had to clean up.There were two other tables eating pizza but they denied us service. I asked him if we were out by 10:00 could we eat in and he said NO! I told him that I didn't believe that was right and he said that he was one of the owners and that if I didin't like it, I didin't have to come back! I love the food here but i never thought that after all the years(about 12 years of being a loyal customer that I would be treated like that.

• Cons: AFTER 12 YEARS OF LOYAL CUSTOMER, REFUSED DINING!

Great family pizza/sandwich shop at great prices!

My family loves going to Mama Ds. We try to go every week. The pizza and sandwiches are prices the same as the national fastfood companies, but Mama Ds is homemade.
