Beware of fast talking salesmen!

I went here looking for a new suitcase of all things. A fast talking and persuasive salesman also convinced me to buy a little video camera the Olympia DV-1800 HDMI. A new Samsonite suitcase and the video camera for $750. According to the website he showed me the camera alone cost $1800! Unfortunately I confused OLYMPUS with OLYMPIA, a fact the salesman did nothing to dispel. In fact I thought I was purchasing an Olympus product. This is a brand I have 100% confidence in. As we were leaving NOL straight away I had no chance to go back and complain. No receipt, no warranty and an installation dvd which does not work with MAC. The camera seems poorly constructed, the graphics are poor, an expensive piece of rubbish. After 3 mails to the makers I received the cryptic answer: no work white (sic) mac. So beware of fast talking salesmen. No expert advice here that you can base your choices on. As

we live in Denmark so we have no possibility of complaining to the camera shop. We had a wonderful 4 weeks in the USA , not least NOL, a fantastic city, and this was the only time someone pulled a quick one on us.

I needed a camera to take pictures of my daughter playing soccer. I am so glad that I have the new camera and I am able to send pictures to the grandparents! The guys at New York Camera explained the uses for this camera and the others and thought I should spend less money on this camera because I would not be using all the options on the fully loaded one. Thank you guys!!!

I have a great deal of respect for New York Camera! They are versed in all the new models and their functions. They are able to show any person how to use them very efficiently and professional. They are all around good guys and they have a real love for photography!
