Tips for Dixon & Dixon

1.0
April 10, 2010

This is NOT Dixon & Dixon!!. My name is John Shea Dixon. I am the family attorney for Dixon & Dixon. My parents retired in 2005 shortly before Katrina, and closed our family business.

Our address was 237 Royal St., & our phone # was 524-0282 -- not 233 Royal or the phone number listed here.

We have asked CitySearch repeatedly to take down this inappropriate and illegal misuse of our family name and goodwill -- without success.

Why is this posting still listed here?

Either City Search is incompetent, or Arthur Harris and/or his store (located at 233 Royal with the phone number listed here) is intentionally, shamefully and ILLEGALLY misusing our name.

PUBLIC NOTICE TO CITY SEARCH & Arthur Harris -- if this posting is not taken down immediately, our next step will be the courts to seek an injunction and damages from all involved.

Shame, shame!

Opulent art shop sets local antique standard.. The Scene
With more art than a museum, Dixon & Dixon is more a gallery than a store. The four-story French Quarter showroom features 200,000 square feet of space filled with 700-plus original paintings and other elegant goodies. Since 1974, Mary Shae's shop has been the premier place for upscale antiques thanks to incredible selection, competitive prices and the "world's best guarantee."

The Goods
This is what happens when castles close. Oils from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries fill every available wall space. Centuries-old rugs and elegant furniture abound. Showcases brim with antique and estate jewelry from Victorian to modern. Long-case clocks stand ceremoniously every few feet and gather in the clock room, where a phalanx of grandfathers tick. This store offers authentic antiques, with price tags to match--some even reach six figures.
