Excellent!. Have never visited this establishment but had an outstanding experience last week. Wife was visiting N.O. with her girlfriends and staying at a local hotel that had no liquor services. The hotel recommended Vieux Carre to me to arrange a surprise champagne and wine delivery gift.

The gentlemen that I talked to was professional, helpful, and very courteous. Not only did he work with my 'middle of the road' budget, but he selected the bottles to match the women's tastes, arranged for snacks (cheese, salami, and crackers), and assured a very prompt delivery.

His attention to detail and overall knowledge was extremely comforting. Ordering via phone from 1000 miles away is a bit risky especially when possessing little knowledge of the product. The delivery was as promised and the wines, champagne, and snacks were a highlight of the gathering. It is worth noting that one of the women (slight wine snob) was from the Napa area and confirmed the the wines and champagne were of outstanding quality. My understanding is that these bottles were 'drained' rather quickly - women!!

Given my experience with Vieux Carre, I would highly recommend this establishment to others.

Don't Do Business Here!. I stopped by here and was impressed by the selection. Most of the bottle were $1-$2 overpriced in my opinion, but the selection was good and they seemed nice. I bought two bottles of wine for $30.



They bagged it in a double plastic bag even though I asked for a box. On my way home the wine bottles fell through the cheap plastic bags and broke on the pavement.



I took them back to get a refund or replacement bottles. I was very polite and asked, and they proceeded to yell at me and accused me of swinging the bottles over my head. I was attempting to be reasonable and I remained calm and they just got more angry before finally getting their henchman to escort me to the door. I had the bags with holes in them and the broken bottles, I hadn't been out of the store for 10 minutes and they were accusing me of some great wine conspiracy. I was actually embarrassed for them.



Anyway, for your wine needs I suggest you go down the street before you fall victim to these people who do not care at all about customer service. You're only as good to them as your money.
