The Scene
Above the more than 50 shops and eateries in Jax Brewery, the Riverview Room is a popular spot for celebrations, from wedding receptions to an annual New Year's Eve dinner. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the Mississippi River between Toulouse and St. Peter streets. Glass doors allow patrons onto four terraces, where they can hear rich sounds from the neighboring French Quarter and enjoy closer riverfront views, including docking riverboats and the gleaming Crescent City Connection.
Features
The often softly lit Riverview Room allows its view to take the spotlight. Subtly segmented into a main room flanked by smaller spaces on each side, this venue also affords a combination of togetherness and privacy, complemented by the separate terraces. The room also features a dance floor and comfortable seating areas, arranged to suit each event.

We had our wedding reception here. Their attention to detail, the beautiful views, the balconies, the lighting, the FOOD, the servers, everything was absolutely PERFECT. These people know how to have a party!!!! You just can't find a more romantic place for a wedding reception. I've never heard so many people rave about a reception before. We were told over and over that this was the best wedding they'd ever been to. One bit of advice for the bride and groom - EAT. We missed most of the food that everyone was raving about because we thought we'd have time "later". Later doesn't come so do it as soon as you arrive.
Pros: Beautiful views, atmosphere, attention to detail, food

We try to experience a New Year's Eve in a different locale each year--12-31-01 was more than memorable. Balconies...floor to ceiling views...good music...what an experience! Made reservations via e-mail--the reservationist was very courteous and accommodating.
Pros: close to french qtr
Cons: no parking, difficult to get cabs
