Best Restaurant in the Universe.
Experiment, go a little wild. Try different things. Absolutely everything is great, but experiment. Ideal perfect meal: Start with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Martini or Garde Manager Plate (pate, sausage, handmade cheese) and the Turtle Soup with Sherry. For main entre everything on the menu if amazing, but my favorite is pecan crusted trout. The Quail is truly inspired. And for desert, the bread pudding soufflé will be the best you've had in your life.
Superb service, which is getting harder to find in New Orleans lately, continues. We love Commander's. Experience the real thing, not a New Jersey impression of the real thing.
Everything was Impeccable!.
Eat here, eat here, eat here! The service was impeccable, the restaurant was very lovely, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Make sure you plan on being at Commanders for a minimum of an hour and a half, and prepare to be spoiled! Reservations are recommended.
If you have children, or expect to be in and out of the restaurant quickly, you do not need to dine here.
Unfortunately, some people have posted bad reviews of Commander's Palace. I have dined there at least 20 times in the past 3 years and I have YET to ever have a bad experience.
Great Evening.
I had not been to Commander's for some time and based on some recent reviews posted here I was a little worried about to expect.
However our group had an absolutely great meal. The food was excellent, service spotless and not pushy, the room was outstanding. Couldn't have been better.
Price was well worth it for what we received. In fact if we had no splurged on the wine it would have a good bargin considering all we had to eat and the quality of the food.
We will return.
Command good service!. The initial seating was pleasant enough but once our waiter and floor manager paid a visit to our table, the dinner went downhill. Strange, indifferent, and coarse are some words that come to mind. Our waiter wasn't exactly quick and seriously lacked personality and knowledge. He seemed to warm up a bit, although his presence at our table was scarce. The manager was gruff and really gave off a hostile vibe. When asking his opinion between the peacan crusted fish and the filet minon he penciled in my order as he barked- "Filet. How do you want it!" without making sure that was, in fact, what i wanted. If the food was truly worth the shabby service i might not complain so much, but you know what? It was lame. Definately not worth an award that is tackily boasted on the menu and at the entrance. Shame on Commander's Palace.
