Editorial Review for Kabby's Restaurant & Sports Edition – by Chad Kirtland

In Short
Imagine "Cheers" on steroids. Fifty-two televisions broadcast every game under the sun. Signed sports mementos, ranging from Shaq's warm-up suit to Greg Norman's golf ball, line the walls. Guys named "Vinnie" coach from their bar stools; LSU, Tulane and Saints opponents beware. Kabby's fills the bill with oysters on the half shell, wings, burgers and more. Specialty drinks feature sports themes, plenty of rum and a variety of fruit juices.

While it's odd to some, the alligator brochette--fresh Louisiana gator fried and served with a spicy tomato basil sauce--is a house favorite.

This is a very nice upscale sports bar. Tons of TVs and they'll turn it to any sport you want. Personally I thought that the volume was too low for the Super Bowl and Rose Bowl; however, this does make it easy to talk to anyone in your group. Food is really good, they have a very good portobello burger and a great pulled pork sandwitch. It looks like there is a banquett room on the side but I don't know if that is part of the Hilton or Kabby's. There is no view of the river from the main room.

Pros: Tons of TVs, Good atmosphere

Cons: Don't pay parking, Menu could be bigger

Clean, nice, good food. Too pricey for big time eater/drinker, but will continue to go until I find better.

Pros: clean, good food, big screens

Cons: no parking, cost
