Fortunately for us the service was horrible at Mena’s Palace. We sat there for 20 minutes with no service. Then when they did come to ask for our order they were extremely rude. We left without eating lunch at Meana’s and walked to P&G’s on Baronne St. P&G’s was so awesome; I could not have asked for more for our guest. The two owners (may be brothers?) at P&G were so gracious and the food was so good that it made me proud to have brought my guests there to experience true New Orlean’s hospitality. P&G’s rocks!
Mena's is just plain MEAN.
I was at Mena?s yesterday for my requisite Po? Boy lunch while in the great city of New Orleans. Usually I go to Mother?s but this time I tried Mena?s. The food was fine, but I was horrified to see them turn away a woman with a service dog! Some older man with an apron comes to the table and tells her she can?t be in there with a dog. She replies, ?he?s a service dog,? and proceeded to show him her papers proving it but the guy couldn?t seem to register. He said ?We allow dogs in here if people are blind.? This poor woman explained that she had a vision problem but I guess that wasn?t good enough for MEANa?s and they made her leave. So left, in tears. It was awful and total discrimination and no one said anything. I tried to explain to our waitress that her boss was making a huge mistake and she proceeded to tell me ?sorry you feel that way.? What?? Ridiculous.
Don?t go to Mena?s. There are plenty other great restaurants all over this great city where the people a warm and kind. Mother?s is one of them.
