A Down Under embassy tucked into a maze of one-way streets and former warehouses..
The Scene
Like many of its neighbors in the aptly named Warehouse District, this increasingly popular destination was once (what else?) a warehouse. These days, it's an Australian-themed neighborhood pub amid the upper-middle-class bustle of an area filled with hotels, bars and Emeril Lagasse-owned restaurants. You won't see Emeril here, but Vic's does boast a friendly staff serving up tasty sandwiches featuring slow-roasted meats for maximum flavor.
The Draw
As you might expect, it's a haven for serious beer enthusiasts, boasting 14 beers on tap as well as an assortment of Australian wines. Shepherd's pie and barbecue pork sandwiches are pub-food delights. Vegetarians will appreciate the spicy black bean burger. An array of daily specials is apt to include such favorites as red beans and rice, sandwiches and pasta dishes.
