Ate here twice in three days...wanted to extend my trip!. This was the absolute best meal we had in four days in New Orleans! My fried oysters were sublime, my son's filet was the best he's ever had (he's eaten steak in every city he's ever visited), the barbecue shrimp was a taste of paradise. We ate there twice in three days; I would've had the barbecue shrimp again and again! My only complaint? On Friday afternoon our service was top notch. On Sunday, the wait staff seemed bored and even a bit rude, but the food was still heavenly!

Great service! Fantastic Food!. I just got back from a trip to New Orleans and I had the pleasure of finding Mr. B's Bistro. I enjoyed the food and service so much that I went back a second time!

The shrimp and grits meal is so yummy. My husband even liked it and he cannot stand eating grits. We loved it so much we bought their cookbook!

Amazing food, Great Value, Hilarious/Awesome staff. It was simply a fantastic time, with great food, great staff, and great atmosphere. The variety of entrees our group of 12 had were flavorful, filling, inventful, and fun. The staff was great, including one waiter, who made a very hilarious endeavour to escort all the women are table, in arms, to the stairs for the bathroom. Our servers were attentive, and all of the prices were quite reasonable, especially in comparison to some of the other restaurants we ate at during our stay, including Antoine's, which was horrible.

Great As IT Always Was Pre-Katrina!. My husband and I along with 4 others had dinner last Friday night while we were vacationing in New Orleans. Mr B's was always one of our favorite restaraunts and still is No. 1 in my books. The crabcake was to die for! The rest of the food served was great! The gumbo is still the best anywhere! LOVE MR B's.

Mr. B's Open and in Full Operation. We visited Mr. B's for lunch. Found the food and service to be of the same good quality as it was Pre-Katrina. Wait staff was very efficient and friendly. Seafood was of good quality and taste.

One of the Best Gumbos in the City. Mr. B's Bistro has never let me down. Their Chicken and Sausage Gumbo is one of my favorites, right up there with One (a fairly new restaurant with fabulous gumbo) and any of Emeril's restaurants. I recommend Mr. B's all the time and I've never heard a complaint. All the entrees are excellent, you just can't go wrong. I've also eaten there with kids and I found Mr. B's very kid friendly.

Brennan outpost for fluorescent-clad tourists and bib-wearing businessmen.. The Scene
With marble tabletops and lots of dark wood, Mr. B's is on the ritzy side of bistro casual, with a touch of deco on the side. Since it's within easy walking distance of the CBD, the restaurant is a popular "power lunch" spot with local suits, and tourists alike. Crackerjack service controls the bustling room.

The Food
Creole classics and post-trendy "comfort foods" (gumbos, grilled everything, pasta variations) from the restaurant's 20-year run. Good news for bread dippers: The seafood gumbo is a dark, chunky bowl of flavorful crab and oysters. The barbecue shrimp are enormous and are served floating in a pool of sop-friendly butter gravy; accept the waitstaff's offer of a bib for the gloriously messy dish. Mr. B's signature jambalaya pasta features fowl (duck and chicken breast) with shrimp and yet another pool of thick sauce.

Fast Dinner at Mr. B's. We called for reservations for party of 2 (but I guess they don't take reservations unless you're in a large party) and they told us it was about a 30 minute wait so they told us to just walk in and get on the list. The place was packed when we arrived but they seated us immediately. Service was friendly and attentive and every dish we had was a winner. I felt rushed through dinner though. With drinks, appetizers and entrees we were out the door in 60 minutes. They definitely know how to turn tables FAST! No wonder they tell people to just walk in.

We had a great time. A group of four women, arriving a bit late to have a full dinner. didn't matter. We had a great meal, with excellent service. We closed the place on a Wednesday night, and to celebrate we got dessert free.
