Editorial Review for Palace Cafe – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Housed in the old Werlein's Music building, Palace Cafe features an airy, split-level dining room with an art nouveau staircase, towering iron columns and ochre-yellow walls that shimmer in afternoon light. Local businessmen and upscale tourists occupy the understated linen-clothed tables and half-round banquette seats. Favorites include Gulf shrimp with fried green tomatoes and remoulade, poached oysters in rosemary cream and andouille-crusted Gulf fish.

Don't bother spending your money. As a native New Orleanian, not worth the money. $5.00 per pea. Save your money and spend it at your favorite burger joint. This is NOT and I repeat NOT and NEVER will be New Orleans food. It's not creole it's not New Orleans and it's NOT edible. Wouldn't let me give ZERO Stars

Pros: It's in New Orleans on Canal Street

Cons: I didn't realize I had to pay for Air on my plate.

I really enjoyed the Palace Cafe. The atmosphere is wonderfful, dress is casual, and the prices are reasonable. The crabmeat cheesecake is by far the most creative appetizer I have ever had. The andouille crusted fish was excellent. My coffee was hot and I enjoyed sharing my dessert with friends at the table. Next time I visit New Orleans, I will definitely dine at the Palace Cafe.
