What People Are Saying About Acme Oyster House

In Short – Loud, crowded and full of life, this seafood haven draws locals and tourists who stand in line for top-notch shooters, cold beer and the salty ambience of this outpost. Shuckers who stand behind the counter and expertly open each mollusk, presenting them to diners with an almost comical reverence. Fresh oysters are the draw, but non-lovers can choose from favorites including red beans, gumbo and Boo fries--shoestrings smothered in brown gravy and cheese.
Editor's Tips
- When to Go:
- No reservations, here. The line to get a table can wind down the street, so get here early.

- There are three pay lots within one block of Acme.
Wonderful Service and Great Food Too

We went to Acme based on a friend's recomendation and we were pleasantly surprised. our waitress was unusually friendly and pleasant - she treted us well and was pleasant even when were unsure about our order. We ordered the roasted oysters and a couple of drinks they showed up cooked exactly as we'd requested (a little more cooked than normal and extra cheese) and sizzling hot. Neither of us were oyster fanatics but these were super good we order another order after we finished our started round and left with full bellies - great job Acme!
- Pros: patient, friendly, helpful service, fresh food
- Cons: Pepsi (not Coke) products

All good things come to those who wait - that's the truth!
My husband and I visited NOLA for our Anniversary weekend and were pleased with the service and selection at Acme.
Recommend the chargriled oysters that are done with butter and parmesean. Expect to wait in line for 10 minutes or so...
- Pros: Chargrilled Oysters... Mmmm
- Cons: Waiting

I can't wait to go back to New Orleans and eat at this Acme Oyster House again. As many times as I have been to New Orleans, I cannot believe I have eaten at Acme only once.
- Pros: Centrally located in French Quarter
