Ample Anniversary. They were just wonderful. I was pregnant and easily tired out and the wait staff was just excellent. They even took my arm to steady my way to the restroom and at 8 1/2 months pregnant that's a big deal.
Wonderful experience. I highly recommend taking the advise of the wine steward. My wife and I did and found a new favorite wine. Food was excellent and the wine complimented it perfectly.
Ms.. Absolutely one of the best steakhouses I've ever eaten in. The food is excellent, service is impeccable and atmosphere very low key. Highly recommend.
A Highlight of Our Trip. Eating here was one of the highlights of our weekend trip to New Orleans. We were so impressed with the service here--there were 3 waiters assigned to our table! And during our meal, two managers came by to see how our meal was going. The food was outstanding! We had mushroom soup for starters, which was delicious. Everything was served piping hot. For the entree, I had the Snapper (i believe) on the Half-shell. YUM! It was the most delicious piece of fish I've ever eaten. We also ordered dessert--the Blondie. It was to-die-for! My friend and I talked about that meal for a long time. It was on the expensive side--over $40 per person, but it was definitely worth it! The atmosphere was a nice respite from the carnival-like debauchery happening right outside!
Good & Bad.
Great Filet Mignon, better than most anywhere.
Great coconut cake. Excellent house wedge salad.
One problem - one patrner ordered the nighlty special, and it took a LONG time for our food to arrive, only to find the "special" was cold. We told the waiter, he immediately got the manager and he said it was complimentary, no charge for the special, without hesitation. Cold food, but excellent customer service to make it right. I would still recommend this reatuarant.
Dominick of Dickie Brennan's. My mother and I went to Dickie Brennan's during Mother's Day weekend. The food was heavenly, but even more heavenly was our waiter, a man named Dominick. He had a stunning smile, New York accent, and funny stories. I have never enjoyed a meal better in my life. Plus, I practically fell in love with the waiter!
Mr.. My wife and I eat a DB's Saturday (6-7-03) night with reservations at 6pm. All went well until they decided to move most ofl the tables in our room between our courses. Tables were moved, tables were built and tables were extended. Then the waiter (without so much as an "excuse me") took the two extra chairs from our table to fill out another table - there were tables where no one was seated for that purpose). While food was ok, but pricey - I will not spend that kind of money for that performance again.
NEVER AGAIN. This had to be the ABSOLUTE worst dining experience. Watched other tables get Class A service (didn't help the table was a minor celebrity and his minor celebrity wife). Served the 12 ounce blackened prime rib, with 4 ounces of it being one big piece of fat, watching other tables have their water filled w/o asking, to waiting an hour for our check to come (something about the computers going down). The most horrible experience ever.
OVERRATED. This restaurant serves good steak - nothing spectacular, especially for the pricetag. My experience with their service has been bad and worse.
Don't Miss This One. Wonderful, well seasoned and cooked to order Ribeye and the service was excellent. If you are looking for service, atmosphere, and a perfect steak don't miss Dickie Brennan's on your next trip to New Orleans.
