Editorial Review for Victoria's Shoes – by Citysearch Staff

The Scene
This hot spot was a shoe-in for the likes of Lauren Hutton and Brandy. The blond-wood floors and sumptuous settees are a sophisticated surprise for the French Quarter. Surrounded by a few cute women's clothing boutiques, an apothecary and a stationery shop, this outpost is on the chic-est stretch of street in the area known for daiquiris and strip clubs.

The Goods
Looking for Uggs? Victoria's had them when they were hottest. Fan of Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik? Here, you not only get pick of the litter, but last season's best looks linger and are priced half-off. Depending on the look of the moment, you'll find the avant garde to the adorable. Better-priced lines like Charles David abound as well.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

The best deals are unmasked only when you ask. Discount shoes are marked as full price--until you let the shopkeeper know you are in on the secret.

Parking

Find a spot on the street or you'll be cutting deep into your discount at the $15 lot down the street. Make sure to pay meter--the meter maids are fierce.

Victoria is no longer what it was. A stop by this little shop used to be a highlight of my trips to Nola. No more. Apparently the owner's daughter now owns the place and the fun discounted shoes are gone. The Jimmy Choos are fine but not the best of the line and the prices are full freight. Oh well. More money to spend at Pat O'Brien's piano bar, I guess!

Pros: Sophisticated atmosphere, high end products

Cons: No longer offers discounts, limited selection
