Why wait in line??. We ended up at Cafe Beignet by mistake, and an excellent mistake it was! A wonderful intimate place with Dixieland music, great coffee, excellent beignets and a beautiful courtyard. Why wait for an hour in line at Cafe du Monde when you can have a better experience at Cafe Beignet!

Amazing Beignets. In my opinion, the beignets here are better than those at Cafe du Monde (which I love). It's also a very charming place tucked into a long narrow brick alley-like space on Royal Street.

hmm. Ok, i'm going to sound uptight here: This place was pretty dirty, and the staff(the girl at the register and another girl) were speaking loudly about fist fighting strategies. Girl #1 thought fighting dirty was OK, "I hate it when people say not to fight dirty, F@#$%, if i'm fightin' someone, i'm f@#$% TRYING to hurt them, so who f@#$% cares!" and so on, and so forth. It was just kinda surreal. The beignet's and coffee were fine, we did'nt go back here at any other point of our vacation, though.

Cute beignet place. We attempted to go to Cafe du Monde but could never get in due to very long lines but we discovered this little gem. This is a cute little place with a good amount of seating. The coffee and beignets were great. The only thing I didn't like is the powered sugar all over the small tables where you sit and eat. They should have little wipes to easily clean the tables. When you walk in, you have to find a table and then stand in line to order...self serve. Since it's so busy, you pretty much have to wipe down your own table and the napkins just don't cut it. This is a cute place with good beignets and good breakfast items. I recommend it. It's a good place to eat a fast breakfast and then go and enjoy the town.

what happened?. someone changed the receipe...smaller, doughier beignets...not much flavor...used to be the best in town....more than a hurricane happened here....
