My wife discovered this store from her trusty guidebook. Rubenstein's was described as "the Barney's of New Orleans".
Leave it to my wife to travel all this way and find one of the more high end New York-like stores in the South. I guess it's considered one of the finest retail establishments in the country, filled with posh designer digs and high-quality lines.
She went through several boutiques, including dragging me into a men's haberdashery, and let's not forget, the jewelry counter that just so happened to have the perfect cocktail ring for her dress that evening!
