In Short – Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.
Dirty and Rude
by ritu325
This Doubletree is in a great location and I have wanted to stay here for years. When I arrived, I was told that the room I had reserved had been given to another party. They put my husband and I up in a extremely small and extremely dirty room. There were stains all over the floor and the smell was terrible. The hotel was unable to give us a new room until the next day.The head valet was extremely rude to everyone he came in contact with (employees and other guests). He was unable to communicate effectively therefore causing mass confusion in the lobby and the valet area. Hotel Management was non-existent. There are too many nice hotels to enjoy in the French Quarter for the same price with better accomodations. I will not be staying here again.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Rude Staff,Parking Service,and Dirty Rooms
Mardi Gras 2004!
by reyrey333
Stayed here for Mardi Gras '04. It's situated on the river and across from Harrah's casino. The parades passed directly outside our room too which was cool. Bourbon street and the craziness of Mardi Gras are just a couple blocks away so it's easy to stumble back at 4a. The staff were pretty friendly, but no outside guests at nite. They made every person wear wristbands. No big deal for me since i'm taken, but my buddies were left a little "blue". If you're going to Mardi Gras, try booking this place in August through Harrah's cause they block rooms here.
- Pros: Proximity to Bourbon, On the River
