Worship rock legends while dining on familiar American favorites.. In Short
Walls covered with decades of Top-40 memorabilia, rock songs blaring in the background and an all-American menu typify this music-themed restaurant. The kitchen churns out group-friendly appetizers like nachos and Southern staples like barbecue ribs and chicken. Burgers are served with hefty sides of fries and the signature pulled-pork sandwich is topped with vinegar barbecue sauce. The gift shop sells branded items like T-shirts, shot glasses and hats.

Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to eat there. I ate at here with a group of 10 high school students and two other adults from Oregon. We did not have reservations (recommended) and it took nearly 30 minutes for them to seat us. The service was poor, as our waitress was also serving at least four other tables in addition our group. It took over an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered and she only came by once to see if we needed anything. Moreover, the restaurant was so loud with bad 80s music that we all came out with our ears ringing. Definitely not one of our better dining experiences in New Orleans.

Not that great - where did the hype come from?. The Hard Rock Cafe isn't bad - it's pretty much identical to every other Hard Rock Cafe in the world, though. The food is your average TGIFriday's/Chili's/Appleby's kind of fare only a bit more expensive. Yes, they have rock memorabilia on the wall. If that's the kind of thing that impresses you, then go on - go. But, baby, this is New Orleans. You could be going to a restaurant with a real musician instead of one with a musician's old guitar. The burgers are better at Port of Call and so are the drinks. And just around the corner on Rampart Street is Donna's - a genuine jazz/blues cradle with excellent barbecue. So if you're a tourist of the unimaginative, unadventurous variety who is more comfortable with the familiar or a frat boy wanting to throw a frat party, Hard Rock may be for you. But otherwise, c'mon - dip your finger into the real big easy.

Awesome Party. I was in a jam to have a big Christmas bash last year for 200 people. We we meeting in New Orleans and I had gotten this great place at an unnamed hotel. Well, they cancelled on me with only a week until the party. I called everywhere and no one could do it on such short notice. Someone suggested the Hard Rock, so I called. They were awesome. They put together a great menu, helped me get a dj, they decorated the place for me, and it was all ours for the night. It even saved my company over $2000 by having it there. Not to mention that we had a blast. Since it wasn't in a stuffy hotel and was in the Hard Rock Cafe we let loose and partied. It was fantastic.
