Sweet, tender barbecue served in out-of-control portions..
In Short
Nothing fancy here. It's is a working-class joint with a few tables, civil rights posters on the walls and fresh collard greens in the Coke cooler. Order at the counter and wait your turn. Fans of sweet, saucy barbecue will be in hog heaven with long-smoked, fall-off-the-bone tender meat served in heroic portions. The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender at the bone and smoky all the way through. Even if you're not in the mood for a meaty marathon, there's a deep selection of soul offerings and side dishes.
The absolute best. food! oh my god not only do they have amazing bbq they give you the hugest portions of it. I stopped there as a last resort the first time I went and was so shocked as to how good everything was there. Its worth the 5lbs you will gain eatting there. The staff there treats you like family as well. New Orleans is lucky they came back after the storm
Alotta food for your dollar. We drove from Morgan City to go to eat at Ms.Hyster's from the reveiws we had seen on this site.We were not disappointed. It was good food for a great price. The service was good.I only have one complaint they did not have any sliced bread (but they did have awesome sweet cornbread)
