Editorial Review for New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) – by Jill Gottesman
In Short
The museum is on the southern edge of New Orleans' leafy City Park, set amid oversized oaks and grassy meadows in one of the city's most naturally beautiful spots. Though it's not large--just less then 50 galleries are housed in the three-story neo-classical structure--the museum's permanent collection is considered comprehensive and eclectic. The museum's extensive antique and ancient glass collection is said to be one of the finest in the South.

A jewel of a museum which gives any visitor insight into Louisiana's visual history. Plus decent European and Asian collections - a beautiful city park setting.

If you've never visited NOMA, you have really missed a treat. The collections are amazing and broad in scope. The glass collection alone is well worth the price. Then add in the wonderful photography collection and the Faberge and don't forget the paintings, decorative arts, orientalia and precolumbian collections.
