Amazing place to stay!! – We held our wedding and housed our guests at the House on Bayou Rd. I cn't say enough about this B&B - it was amazing. There is nothing I could imagine improving. It is very convenient to all of the attractions but allows you a quiet relaxing place to go back to at the end of the day. The service and food were impeccable and all the staff were polite and accomodating. The breakfast food was amazing as was restaurant Indigo next door. Please check out this place - you won't regret it!!
A traditional petite Creole plantation. – The Scene
The main house on this property dates to 1798, when it was the center of an indigo plantation maintained by a Creole settler. The two-acre grounds are small by regional plantation standards, but they are enormous for what is now an in-town estate. The inn is close to City Park attractions, including the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Fair Grounds Race Course. The latter is ground zero for the annual Jazz & Heritage Festival.
The gardens are landscaped with native Louisiana plants, ponds and patios. They provide a perfect setting for the low-lying house and outbuildings. The seven guest rooms and suites, along with a small cottage, are furnished with antiques, designer fabrics and romantic features such as canopy or sleigh beds. This place is a living museum, albeit with modern touches like a swimming pool and hot tub. A full breakfast is served weekdays. On weekends there's a Champagne brunch.
