Steven Sobel Salon. I love love love Steven. I've been there twice, and both times I have gotten amazing cuts. I try to take his advice aka change part/ length, and he is always so right. I wait almost a year if I'm not in town to get a Steven cut, and he is such a genuinely nice person to boot. I always leave feeling absolutely beautiful. Steven's Eye For Color. I agree with NOLAmimi. As a previously-natural redhead, I know how difficult it is to get this color right. For years I've searched for the right person to do just that. After Hurricane Katrina, I had to start over and was very nervous about making the right choice. Not only did Steven convince me to change the brand of color I use, he gave me a new cut.

It's all good! I get compliments daily. The color looks as natural as any redhead you've ever seen. Plus, I love that he keeps you on your toes and suggests updates periodically so the look doesn't become stale. He's very talented as proven by his years in business and many repeat clients. Plus, Reena can style hair like nobody's business....she's great!…

23 years later, and he's still making me feel pretty. The year is 1988, I am 14 years old, and I am going to an 8 O'clocks dance. I have a pretty pink dress and need a nice up-do to finish my look. Somehow, Steven made me look and feel beautiful. He continued to do so through every high school, college, grad school and pre-wife and Mama stage of my life. There are many reasons you go see Steven. He is unbelievable at his craft. He is professional, and makes you feel like you are his only client while you are in his chair. I moved to California and had not been home in 8 years. I came home this past Mardi Gras. No lie, the first place I went after landing in NO, was to the Steven Sobel Salon of course! I haven't felt so pretty in a long time. So me and my hair have been adoring him for 23 years....if that's not a positive review, I don't know what is. Miss you Steven....you can always move to North Carolina just for me!…

Comment on RUDE OWNER AND WIFE review. I tried to write this in the comment section of the previous review, but it was too lengthy - this was hard to write for me too since I have witnessed several incidents where Monique especially has been rude..... In saying that, THIS IS THE WORKINGS OF TWO VERY DISGRUNTLED EX-EMPLOYEES, Monique and Kristen. It is obvious this woman has no idea the dynamics of this salon. She unfortunately witnessed a rude episode yet again caused by Monique that in the end got these girls fired for good. Steven will continue to be at the top of his field and has deservedly won any kudos he gets (we don't pay for advertising). He has been business for over 30 YEARS - these girls are 22 - need I say more.If they wish to make it in this business, they need to respect their employers. I worry for whomever takes them on next....They are not as good as they think they are. VERY COCKY, RUDE GIRLS…
