Symmetry claims to be the first local jewelry store that also operates as a gallery, with half a dozen local artisans and many more national and international artists represented. The small Riverbend shop is packed with all that glitters, from arty $20 tidbits to full-blown platinum-and-diamond creations at $30,000. Everything is handmade, with many one-of-a-kind pieces and limited editions.

The Draw
With the work of dozens of different artists showing, Symmetry's selection is rather eclectic. Local designers regularly present pieces that evoke New Orleans history and culture, like diamond-studded fleur de lis pendants or brooches styled after architectural accents in local churches. Antique styling is also a favorite here, from art deco designs to adornments boasting ancient Etruscan influence. Symmetry also does a great deal of custom work, including jewelry restoration, repairs and original designs with your gemstones or ones purchased there.
