The Scene – The layout is simple--bar, floor, stage. And it's intimate: The sight lines are decent even when it gets crowded, which doesn't take long. On the right night, there's an energy about the place that makes it unique. – – The Draw – An Uptown landmark for more than 20 years, the modern-day Jimmy's is only a shadow of its former self. The club was once a thriving outpost for local and touring rock acts, and an essential part of a bustling Uptown music scene, with college students wandering freely between Jimmy's, Carrollton Station, the Maple Leaf and the…

When I entered the bar, the night was young and I couldn't wait to have a good time at Jimmy's, which happened to be the bar that one of my friends rented out for a party. There weren't that many people there, so I figured the bartenders would be more relaxed than the last visit I had there. Even though my experience the previous time was "subpar," to say the least, I decided to give it another shot. When we entered the bar we were givin "tickets" for drinks in order to keep an exact amount on the tab. Each person was given 6 tickets, all printed on one sheet. I immediately tore off one ticket from my sheet, approached the bar, and ordered my drink. The bartender made my request as she swipped my ticket from my hand. She then asked me to give her another ticket, when I corrected her that the ticket in her hand was clearly my ticekt; I had just put it in her hand. She then exclaimed "whatever you're LYING!" and preceeded to throw all of the other collected tickets from behind the bar in my face. Obvioulsy appauled, I decided to leave the bar for the final time. This just happens to be a random encounter I had with the extremely rude and obnoxious bartenders. As far as atmosphere, the music is always BLASTING you away, very few people acually dance, and those who do are probably not old enough to drive. Although I completely detest this bar, the bouncers at the door should not be held responsible for the chiaos that goes on inside.
